Gents - hope someone can help me with this one. I pulled this bolt out of the rear floor on my 40. I can't figure out the thread pitch on the damn thing. Assume it is metric and both 1.0 and 1.5 are not it. Anyone seen one of these baby's before?

Thanks in advance.

If it’s got an aftermarket body mount kit, the energy suspension bolts are sae.

The head of the bolt will tell if it's off the truck or aftermarket. The pointy part could be Toyota but only if the thread is metric.

Try a SAE pitch gauge. And get that nasty bolt off that sweet paint job! At least use a coaster...

OEM body mount bolt. 10mm x 1.25

If the 40 is '79 or newer, it's 10mm x 1.50

I believe up to '78 it's 10 ea. @ 50mm, and 2 ea. @ 80mm.

'79 and newer is 4 @ 55mm and 2 ea. @ 80MM.

Anyone else want to chime in??

Two more questions:

(1) if using non-oem bolts, what hardness of bolt should be used?

I saw a picture on Facebook of an FJ80 that rolled and body sheared off the frame due to improper bolts!

(2) is there a good source for OEM bolts without paying $9 per bolt?

That is a seat belt bolt. I believe you get them when you purchase a new seat belt. I think the pitch is special because it is safety and someone cannot easily slap in another wrong grade bolt.

1969fj, Bold assertion. Longest seatbelt bolt on record!

@KY Longhunter has it right. Note that M11 x 1.25 is interchangeable with 7/16 x 20.

@reddingcruiser is correct as well.
