Also last weekend some friends in some built jeeps and I went for a wheeling session here local to us. It was a good time with some big rucks but about an hour or so later I noticed my clutch didnt disengage when I pushed the clutch when bound up. So I shut it off go to double low so I have more control since the clutch was acting up and drive it out. magically the clutch works again but I decide to check anyhow. I crawl under the truck and find a big crack from top to bottom on the passenger side of the bellhousing... Fxxx!!!!! Well that ended my night but thought I would bring an update. I was able to make it back to my trailer on my own tho and get it out but still sucks, now I gotta drop a heavy ass SM420 and my dual cases.
things that I ned to get done before next wheeling season. Not really in any particular order.
Chevy corp. 14 bolt rear end including disk brakes, gears and paint coupled with some ruff stuff armor.
63" chevy 3/4 T rear leaf springs *EDIT* maybe something different with shackle hanger for a longer shackle to gain droop, or a 4 link *END EDIT*
Rear 60 springs up front
Stretch front wheelbase as far forward as my frame will allow
shackle reversal (this and last 2 go hand in hand)
Replace bell housing wih spare in shed
move front lights to a safer location out of the way of the tires (after wheel base stretch) and trees / rocks (all the time)
get some 6 shooter knuckles and do the 4 runner brake upgrade up front
rebuild SM420
fix transfer case leaks
Mount one of my 3 york compressors for on board air
few odds and ends such as some wiring and other crap.
Wheel the living s*** out of it and see what breaks and needs to be upgraded to stay reliable.
