Well after driving all over and just short of hitting salvage yards to see what newer vehicles might have that would work, I modified a Dorman part that may work for a while at least

So working on the wiper arms that are under the cowl vents. I am going to have to figure out how to replace or repair that worn nylon cap that both holds the arm Eye and is greesed to pivot on the ball. Right now it doesn't hold the eye of the push arm.

You should contact Man-a-Fre. They reman these for the FJ60.

Wiper stuff in.. time to figure out headliner, door cards and get the dash frame painted and installed along with the wiring harness so I can think about putting in some glass.....

Well I guess it is too cold for other stuff so time to work on installing the wiring harness. Not putting this back in...whatever it is

Found this little 30 amp fuse, set for the Instrument Cluster lights..... You can see some of the carnage for the wire going to the Rheostat (Dimmer).

Been looking hard for some 1979 Toyota Wiring Diagrams but no luck. Did find some for 81 and 83 which made it in to the Resources section for those who want to check them out. the 83 one doesn't have much detail around the Rheostat circuit. I did buy one of the Prospero's Garage fancy color wiring diagrams but besides looking nice it is missing all of the information I was looking for and with respect to the guage cluster, the numbers on the pins for the round connectors are NOT pin numbers... I made my own pinout map with pin numbers that actually match the plugs and the Mitchell wiringdiagram I found for the 81 model Pickup.

im going to pdf the whole manual soon.
Thanks for grabbing the pictures and posting them! This will help a lot!

Edit: I did a little fusing from what you posted and have the wiring diagram in one sheet.

Unfortunately the center ball joint was rusted and wouldn't let me pump anything new in it so i had to put skf UJ613 in there. which is not quite as nice as the original since it isn't in a brass sleeve....was hoping this from @cruiseroutfit was the right size, but the picture of the seal is completely different so likely wouldn't have worked but would have been better quality Universal Joint CV Ball Kit - Japanese - Fits LC/HiLux CV Shaft (1 Required per Shaft) (UJCVBALL) - https://cruiserteq.com/universal-joint-cv-ball-kit-japanese-fits-lc-hilux-cv-shaft-1-required-per-shaft-ujcvball/

One of the koyo ujoints was damaged during removal so I need to replace them both... These new ujoints are slightly too small and certainly garbage so they aren't going in. I think GMB GUT-27 is the right one that I need to find, but there is still a list of others I can check out of varying quality:

GMB 210-2500 ---These might still be right as i have no idea what came in the boxes I ordered. no markings and the cap diameter is the only thing that seems to be correct on these.

Wild, does the exterior GMB box say Japan? I've not necessarily know the bulk of their modern stuff to be Japanese fwiw.

I don't think the Land Cruiser CV ball kit will fit but I thought the Japanese Matsuba CV specific U-joints fit? If you send the joint measurements you need, we can quickly verify with our UJ00001. Info@cruiseroutfitters.com

Yes the outer box says Made in Japan. In fact I had been moving to them from moog as most of the moog stuff I've gotten in the last couple of years has been very sloppy. This is the first time I've gotten GMB stuff that wasn't from Japan. I can't tell you how the long term is of GMB stuff that is from Japan as I only have a couple of years use of them on my 80 series.

I was looking for the Matsuba joints and have the part number around here for them, however I haven't been able to find anyone who posts on their website what the part numbers are so I didn't want to order them hoping they had the right size for the that DC cv joint. I put a picture of the measurements of the koyo. if those match what you all have then I will just get them from you all.

I can shoot you an email with the measurements.

Damn, I guess the box is made in Japan, not the parts :D

They do have manufacturing facilities in Japan, but China. Sadly they recently discontinued one of the Japanese water pumps they made :(

Shoot dimensions to our team at the shop. They can pull a joint and measure tomorrow. If you have the Matsuba OE number, they can cross-reference with that too.

Well after much measuring and searching, I finally got some joints that fit. Ended up finding someone to order by size and brand. Even then I needed to cleanup the inner yoke faces with a file to get the snap rings in correctly. Been sick so wanted to focus on things I could so without too much effort. For others looking. GUT27M and you will need to make sure you can get to 49mm between the yoke inner faces. If some are not quite there, file on each side to keep it even.

Much thanks to the gang @cruiseroutfit for trying to find some that would work for me. Just wasn't quit small enough.

Is GUT27M the Matsuba number?
I believe it is. it is the number on the box. There was a GMB part number i found on some of the taco forums that also had GUT 27 mentioned. So i am wondering if it is standard.. I do think that if there is a joint that is 28.5mm x 48mm it would be a more accurate fit to the original koyo I removed. I wouldn't have had to clean up any of the inside surfaces.

Been very distracted by other vehicle work but prepped my fenders for paint, cleaned up sun visors, prepped...fixed and painted dash metel, and derusted-reshamed headlight brackets and got them painted up. Just procrastinating on doing the necessary wiring work...

I need to paint the dash pad... would appreciate recommendations if anyone has some that will look good when done. I plan to paint it black. Also need a decent paint for the sun visors too. but those will likely be tan when I get done with them.
