Dan, the last picture is for you
Very cool, whodunit?

That be a CDN BJ70 speedo face.

Well done on your cruiser, great result, and very informative to all as you progressed, I thought you were looking at the deeper style rims, I see you have got the flat face style, did you have no luck getting the -20 rims

I could not find the deeper dish, or the 16 inch rims

Have you taken it for a wheel alignment yet? If so what is the castor angle?

I did not get it to the shop. I was stuck in 4WD and didn't have the time to get it out before I needed to be there

Was the blue cable disconnected?

The speedo face is brilliant.

Not installed. That is why the big teardown. Had to snake the cable behind the defrost vent.. At least I still had it. Still connected to the old control

Well I think I figured out the Heater fan issue, but still not happy. could really use more fan speed. Maybe I put the 12V motor in!

Any suggestions?

Below are the fan pics. The top is the BJ74 RHD fan. The bottom is the BJ70 LHD. I had the 74 fan installed.

Charlie, do you get good air flow on your 2 70 series?

So it was backwards in a fashion. Mine has decent flow and three speeds. It does not have as much volume as my 80 does however.

Did you swap the resistors out?

Actually I do get good airflow on both of my 70 Series however the first two fan speeds are DOA on my HJ75. (A future project when the truck gets some down time)

That will be the blower resistor probably.

I'm thinking a different squirrel cage would be better. Maybe one of the newer ones with longer fins. At least they're easy to swap out and test

Well that shoots my low voltage theory down in flames.....:crybaby:

I was able to get time to swap in 60 series speedo drive and driven gears in the 74 to compensate for the 33 inch tires. Cruiser dan got me the parts and simple directions. I didn't drain the transfer case, just pulled off the flange and seal and let it run in the drain pan out the flange. by the time i was ready to put the seal back in, it was about done draining. The seal held the rest in. Very straight foward.. Just topped off the fluid.

Dan said it would correct the speedo, so I will find out when I drive it next.

Thanks Dan
