remember, in Japan they recalibrate to tire size so MAYBE the gear was changed over there before you changed it here ... really messing with the theory.
Have you taken it for a wheel alignment yet? If so what is the castor angle?

Starter removal... after the second time, I very carefully and neatly trimmed the inner fender. Can't even tell it's done but now I can get the starter out, and back in...

I did have a "00" cable from the starter to frame.
Pulled it out and took it to a rebuilder to test and rebuild if needed. Pulled 380 amps UNLOADED. Spec is 90. He said he didn't even know how it started the truck at all!!! It would have melted anything less than "00" cable
