Can anyone explain to me why one center pin is thicker than the other if these are supposed to be interchangeable :hmm:?

The second has a collar on the center pin for the axles to rest against. This helps keep axles from moving too much and letting the c-clips come off the axles.
 
Ok, so will it then work for the FF rear? I have an fzj 80 rear on right now.

I'm realizing I might sound stupid, but I just want to have all parts and supplies ready to get this done in one shot.
 
Can anyone confirm that these Lockers will work for my application. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

FJ40/55/60/62/80 (Full-Float Rear Axle)

Yes. The reason is that the FF shafts engage only the side gears and do not come far enough into the diff to touch the center pin in either setup.
 
In preparation of getting all the parts to re gear my rig. Do you guys suggest that I swap out the rear axle bearings and how long does doing that take? If so what are the koyo part numbers for a fzj 80 axle? Thanks.

Mike.. since you are in there... might as well... not too long of a job to swap them out. Its good maintenance IMO.. Call/PM Georg or Kurt.. First choice for me would be Koyo and then Timken

Take solace in knowing it takes like a quarter the time to do the rear FF as it does the front ;)

It's not the time it's the money I'm bleeding on my fun toys. I actually am looking forward into getting in there and learning. I just wish I could convince myself to get the ARB lockers and do it now instead of revisiting this a year from now. I need a beer.
 
Living with the parents isn't sounding so bad right now! But i guess its still acceptable at my age... oh wait what, no? I'm still a loser? yeah i know :lol:

I really miss having other people paying my bills. Just accept that life will suck more and more as you get older. Then numb yourself to that pain and put it in 4lo
