I started so well with the caliper pistons covered, then I messed it up.

Spent the day at Lee's getting his 40 ready. We worked on installing his new suspension. Digging the new look. It was way too hot to do more than one axle.

The original plan was to take his 40 to SAS4 with my 62. But it needs a knuckle rebuild, and some minor mechanical work. He'll probably ride with me instead.

First impressions, I love it. The pedal is a bit squishy compared to before, but the feel is on par with my Tacoma. Land Cruiser Specialist did the work and as usual, great service and turn around.

Big Red stops on a dime now and if I double pump it, it stops in its place. I have the 80 master cylinder in there. But might think of a better master cylinder option way down the line. Got rid of a bunch of excess things, but wish I was able to keep brake shield.

When i got it home, both hubs were hot, though not too bad, but the left one was hotter than the right one. The calipers were only warm. So I'll keep an eye out on that for the next few days.

All the parts that came off. Calipers, rotors, spacers, old hubs, break shield etc...

Left front tire. Red makes it stop faster.

Caliper bracket also in red.

We were worried the 6 shooter steering arms might not work with the new hubs, but no issues.

It stands equally wide in the front as it does in the back without spacers.

The new brake lines a way too long, so I'm Gonna have to bungee them up and out of the way so nothing snags on it. Ill post pics a little later.

Do you still have the vacuum booster or have you stepped up to hydroboost yet? Can’t believe you’ve been on stock front brakes this whole time.

The booster is still stock.

While looking for bungee cords, found this old spare tire carrier plate. Thinking of converting it to a hi lift jack mount. Just need to drill a hole for it.

Mike, What is the minimum wheel size for that brake kit ?? 16', 17" ??
The current wheels on there are 17s, but i think i can fit my 16.5s, I'll have to check and get back with you on that. 16 inch wheels would be too small.

I think @Godwin got them to work with a 70 series 16” wheel.
The website stated, if i choose the 2017+ 4runner calipers i would need a minimum of 17in wheels. But looking at it, i bet i can fit 16.5. I might have to do some grinding for the 16in wheels to work.

Yeah, I'm running 16" OEM 70 series wheels with Tundra calipers. I think these are the early Tundra calipers and that may make a difference.

Great looking rig you got there. How are you liking the Yokohama tires?

mine are the 4 runner calipers. It's hard to believe the 4runners' would be larger than the tundra's.

Which 4runner calipers are you talking about? There's a big difference between early and late 4runner and early/late tundra stuff

Looks like I'll be returning this one. It's too short for big red.

It's too bad because it fit that metal plate I found perfectly.
