If the oil is coming from the steering/vacuum pump its a pretty easy fix. Cheap rebuild kit from Cummins and a few easy hours of labor which includes watching a few youtube videos.

It's an old Gentleman called Greg. Works at A1 Automotive in Georgetown. He says he also did the lines for a blue land cruiser with a chevy v8 and a bunch of wranglers with LS engines in them. Nice guy, knowledgeable and no BS.
no, didn't do much research. I'll look at it and see if that's a better routeHave you looked into going to the 1-ton TRE's with 0.25" wall tie-rods?
yup. not looking forward to redoing this jobEverything pressed back in correctly when you had the pump apart?
Happy Memorial Day, if there is such a thing. Since I've been refreshing seals on the rig, I'll be swinging by Cummins in the morning to get an oil pan gasket. Big Red has a small yet annoying leak on the front left side on the engine block. Anyone know if you use any kind of sealant with the gasket?
Thanks J,Mike, All I can find is this.
"use Three Bond 1207-C to fill the joints between the pan rail, gearhousing and rear cover." Nothing else is applied to the oil pan gasket. The torque is 18 ft-lb for the oil pan capscrews. The capscrews are M8-1.25 x 20mm
Must be a Cummins sealer. I'd inquire at the dealer.
