Seat part number 39435-01. (Black Vinyl). Got one a couple of weeks ago from Summit. It is currently mounted in my original, (steel), body FJ40 1970 model. The same seat fits in both my Gozzard Tub and in my Malotte Tub for reference. I actually set it in each one to test fit.
It fits in all three just like the above picture. Tight with no room on either side of the seat.

In case anyone was curious how the Bestop package that rog3167 suggested looks installed. The 39440-01 bench seat fits great with a few inches on each side to spare.

How much work was it for these to fit into factory seat brackets?

Thanks.

I have the CCOT bestop bench and it fits great, installed in a couple of hours. The prop stick is just a bonus if you have the seat folded forward. I didn't feel like welding brackets or drilling any extra holes than I had to so I spent the $$ on it and I think because of it all there as 1 package, seatbelts, etc, it was worth it.

Hi - not to resurrect an old thread, but I was wondering if you needed to fabricate/purchase any hardware/brackets to make the Bestop seats from Summit fit in your Rig.
Thanks
first post! long time lurker

Rear seat? If so, it comes with the brackets.

Very nice Build! Good decision with the seats.
I would like to have had the option to install the back seat but I am unable to now due to the rear shock hoops. I would like to see if there is anything I can do to add a spot for two more passengers, Perhaps mount a seat facing sideways on the fender wells.

Hey Twelve, looks like you could plate over that for a good seat base. Serious tubing there!

I can confirm that a 2004-2006 TJ rear bench seat will fit. I used stock jeep brackets to get the fold and tumble feature. Still working on a seat belt solution but that will be figured out soon. I'll post pictures soon.

I put the 42" trailmax fold and tumble in the back of my truck last year. Fits like it was meant for it.
Got the front seats in the winter with hopes of completing that project in the spring, but with the uber long winter, I got tired of not driving my truck and just put it on the back burner.
I know I'll need at least a week to fab up new brackets and undo the replacement seats that the po put in. Based on the way it's welded in there, truck must have come from tornado country or a place with very large birds that swoop in and pick people out of their fj40s

I did the front reclining and rear bench both from CCOT. The rear bench fits my '78 40 perfect but with no extra room between it and the wheel wells. Appears to be an excellent product. Have not installed the front seats yet as I am redoing my drivers side floor first.

Just got a pair of front seats from CCOT... one has two tears, I called CCOT..... and I have to do the whole ups claims dance. Manny in shipping has some how made me feel like this is my fault, by saying things like (this has never happened before........ that looks like a razor blade cut)...... fun....... I sent pictures showing the metal bar that poked through that has it paint scratched off during the injury, along with where the box was scrunched at the sight.

More then likely this will all work out and be fine.... just a bit sad about it all ATM.

I will also admit, I'm having some bad luck getting all the seats on this project. I recently ordered and got the back seat from Amazon... the first one showed up with a big factory coffee stain on the back that I could not remove.... could not believe it, box was still factory closed, seat had the plastic still on it, and under that was the stain....... But since amazon is the behemoth company it is, I had a replacement in two days and the factory stained one returned with ZERO issues or extra work on my part...... besides paying for these things in the first place.... which is about all I expect to have to do when buying new stuff.

Oh man! I would be PISSED! Some schmo on the phone insinuating I damaged them with "looks like a razor blade cut". I didn't know your background was in forensic photography, Manny. You know what? better yet, fxxx you, put someone else on the phone and ever talk to me again.

Front seats now in, will post up pics...... I purchased the reclining models and the only issue is the brackets needed to mount the stock seatbelts, they receptacle brackets do not fit too well. Otherwise appear to be good quality. Pics soon.

Yep, in the end all is well. Not sure why I had to wait to have the replacement shipped out, but a week after ups picked up the torn seat for "claims dept", a replacement seat has arrive from ccot. Bit of a scuff on the retractor spring tab, where ups roughed it up, nothing a bit of paint cant protect from rust.

Bestop really could do with adding some extra cardboard corners on their boxes. And since CCOT reships from their warehouse.. I'm surprised they don't add a bit of something to beef up the boxes. Another life ago I worked in a warehouse that shipped car care/tools products. We were very good about beefing up manufacture shipping containers, it was the least we could do when making things up 100% or so.

All that said, all is well... just waiting on some stock seat risers a fellow mudder is shipping out to me. Meanwhile I'll finish installing the back seat. I'm putting in 3 point shoulder seat belts which required me to drop the back 22g gas tank, and do some drilling / welding on the roll bar to fit in. .... Pics on the way.

Same stuff pulled on me with their parts department and Many was the guy . I will never ever buy from them again .
