I've been looking to replace my front seats as well as add a matching rear fold and tumble bench seat. CCOT seems to have a plug and play seating package from Bestop that they have modifed to fit FJ40's, but that convenience appears to come at a price.

It seems to me that I could piece the same CCOT package together for a fraction of the price. I'm wanting a matching set in the black crush vinyl and I think I've figured out the correct part numbers. The front seats are Bestop # 39436-01 ( http://www.amazon.com/39436-01-TrailMax-All-Vinyl-Fixed-back-Wrangler/dp/B001892T3I?tag=ihco-20 ) and the rear bench seat is Bestop # 39435-01 ( http://www.amazon.com/39435-01-TrailMax-All-Vinyl-Wrangler-Unlimited/dp/B001898TT6?tag=ihco-20 )

Has anyone gone down this road before and can confirm that the part numbers are correct? Also, does anyone know where I can get the seat belts that CCOT uses for the rear bench? Lastly what type of brackets did you have to fabricate to get everything installed without having to drill new holes?

Good combo, Amazon says it wont fit my FJ..but I too wonder what needs to be done to adapt, if the seat base brackets don't line up with factory FJ..Then instead of modifying floor brackets, I think metal can be made to adapt to bottom brackets on seats to line up with factory floor brackets. The cost difference is substantial enough to figure something out..and have money left over for beer & pizza..

That bench is two inches too wide for a stock 40 tub.

I contacted CCOT and Bestop a while back about buying those brackets individually. Naturally, Bestop said that decision was up to CCOT, who said no. How else could they justify the four hundred dollar up charge per seat?

That bracket looks easy enough to fabricate though. Someone could make some dough producing a simple set of brackets. :hhmm:

If that bench is too wide for the 40, than what Bestop bench is CCOT using?

Not sure. Perhaps they use the 42" bench instead of a 40" wide version. You'll be squeezing it into the tub though.

Has anyone installed the CCOT Bestop bench seat in their rig and can confirm that it actually fits?

Front seats are 39436, front seat sliders 51255, rear seat is 39440. All bestop numbers

Nice. Thanks for the PNs Rog. That bench is only 35 inches wide. Perfect.

Thanks for providing the Bestop part numbers. Do you have have any pics of the bench seat installed? Also, did you have to fabricate any brackets or did everything bolt in place using existing holes and hardware?

In case anyone was curious how the Bestop package that rog3167 suggested looks installed. The 39440-01 bench seat fits great with a few inches on each side to spare.

Snazzy. Me likey more every time this topic is brought up. Were you able to put it together for $400 less than what CCOT charges? If so I might actually be able to afford it before my little one outgrows the rear seat...:hhmm:

I put the 42" trailmax II in mine and it fits perfect. I have pics of it in my build thread in my sig.

I was able to get the two front seats, two seat sliders, and the rear bench seat for just shy of $500 less than what the same package would have cost through CCOT (not including any shipping or taxes), so it was definitely worth it to piece everything together.

What about seat belts?

I ordered a set of cheap 2 point lap belts from Acme Jeep Parts. They are on back order at the moment, so I' haven't received them yet. I think they were around $15 a piece.
