Hi Kyle - Attaching a few pictures of how I've installed my trailmax. Also in San Mateo CA if you want to see it 'live'.Does nobody know which bracket works best with the trailmax 2 rear? There’s lots of different choices and I’m just curious if one is better than the other, or if one works and one doesn’t … I need to purchase bracket first to see how the install will go with my long range gas tank in the back below the tub.

Old thread revival…
Lots of nice installs of the Bestop rear seat in here. Can anyone share pictures/descriptions of the mounts you made or altered to mount the seat in your FJ40? Does the bestop seat itself come with a universal mount of sorts that can be used?
The premium to buy the CCOT kit is $400 more than buying the seat alone, and they don’t sell the black denim version I’d prefer.
I took what I think you are referring to as the universal mount and mounted it to a custom 1/4" adapter plate I made up.

Then bolted the entire assembly including the seat down using the bolts that attached the body to the frame (actually used slightly longer bolts).
