Kudos to the zip tie gas cap saver, easy functional and something I would have never thought of, but will do right now!

Thanks,

Richard

Agreed, kudos:cheers:

My filler neck lid is FLAT as a result of not having something to keep it.

Fell off the tire (where I usually put it) and I ran the f**k over it!:lol::lol:

But like most landcruiser parts, just bang it out a bit and it still works:D:cheers:

great idea: can we get a shot from the top, to check clearance for PS left draw? You know, drivers out for fuel, dirtbag thinks they'll jack it... gotta give PS a chance to defend....

I know, I know, how many PS know how to shoot, lefthanded, etc. Think of this as 'in the interest of thoroughness', cuz my lil sis would sure enuf pull a shooter to protect her truck.

I actually used longer screws so I could put a nut between the metal of the console and the holster itself, acting as a spacer...I can, without crazy contortion, reach and grab it, no problem. Maybe a little more space would be nice, but so far so good.

Should be just as perfect for the PS left draw. Just obviously get a left handed holster and mount it more towards the drivers side of the metal panel of the console so you have more room to clear the seat if you draw it from a seated position.

Oh, and too far spaced from the console, you may lose the ability to drop your back seat down.

Rebuild your choke cable.
Price - $10.85
Time - 1 hr.
Difficulty - 3/10
My choke cable had been snapping and was really hard to pull. The old plastic coating had cracked off and was kinked in some places. I ordered up some new cable and conduit from flander's classic cables. The stock cable is .047". I ordered 6 ft. of 1x19 stranded cable at .36 cents a foot. As for the conduit, Flander's noted that the nylon lined cable was slicker, so I ordered 2 meters at $2.31 per.
First remove the choke assembly.

Cut off the shrink wrap to get to here. Pry up the covers' tabs with a small screwdriver and remove. Nothing will jump out.

Now remove the white plastic block. Two small springs and ball bearings are compressed on the sides of the block. They are not super strong, but they will try to come out. They are there to give the clicking feeling when the choke is pulled.

Now get your soldering gun warming...

Heat up the solder and remove the barrels on the ends. Save them to put on the new cable.
Somewhere in these steps you must remove the old conduit from the clicking/mechanical terminal. Mine happened to pop out under compression when I went to push the choke in one day. Crimp the new conduit in it's place, and solder on the barrels onto your new cable. Before your done, wrap the housing in electrical tape to prevent shorting between the metal dash and the external terminals.

The new cable is so smooth you can hardly tell if it's even attached to anything.

5. Re-wiring the side markers to work with the running lights and turn signals - free - had the wire and connectors on hand. Do a search...works great!

Extinguisher

I know that there have already been a few fire extinguisher ideas posted, but if you have an 60 or an 88 62 without the shoulder belts in the back, you can use the pre existing threaded holes to mount an extinguisher out of the way, I found this one at the Targhetto designed for just that, the holder is even designed to be "break away" so that you are not trying to unclip the darn thing when you are rushing to use it. Grip it and rip it.

And before anybody asks, it is small enough not to hit your head on it if you sit in the back seat.

$12

Only problem with this picture is that if I left 18cents in my console in DC, some crack head would smash out my several hundred dollar window and bust up the interior for that kind of loot!
Seriosly, storing pennies in the rig?
Were you the guy the other day in front of me at McDonalds that took 20 minutes counting out exact change?:D

I liked the liner idea, I did the same thing with extra waffle mat material, attached it with velcro so that I can pull them out and clean out all the crumbs (maybe once a year )

I also pulled out my ashtray and painted the inside of it with that rubber dip paint, I keep my change in there and it does rattle around.

That crackhead would hit the lottery if he hit my truck...those aren't pennies my friend, but quarters! You're lookin at $3.75. Actually, it's $6 now cause I filled up the other 2 slots.

Like the velcro idea BTW.
