Those look great! How did you prep before paint? I wonder how they will hold up long-term? How long have you had them painted?

Only prep was a thorough cleaning. I've had them on for about a week...so far, so good. I've used this same paint to refurbish the wiper cowl on my '05 F150 King Ranch. It's been over a year since I've done that, and it still looks like I just painted it.

Set of Paint pens- white tire paint pen- pepboys or harbor frieght for "Toyota" on the mud flaps- grey or whatever color you want- my truck is grey- for "Toyota" stamped in rear hub cap- and black for the surrounding background on rear license plate holder chrome and 4wd logo -maybe 10 bucks

Here's my solution to the awkwardly low OEM center console/arm rest. It's definitely improved my posture:

gee, nitro, i can't tell what it is you added. if only it were a bit more obvious. ;)

DC88FJ62- I would be worried about slamming on the brakes and haveing that fire extinguisher coming at my head  more than I would be about a a quick release mount. They fit good under you front seat and is pretty easy to get to

Great Info for those with Pix of the upgrades ,

Anyone know where to get Krylon Fusion semi-flat black spray paint online? No local stores seem to carry this stuff...

They look good now, but honestly, give them 6 months and they are going to look worse than before. Chances are that paint is not flexible when dry; it's going to flake off everywhere, it's not going to stand up to the elements.

Run to the store and pick up some rubbing compound and turtle wax, should cost you about $15 tops. Start off with the rubbing compound, scrubbing in circular motions for about 10-15min, then skip to the turtle wax to buff it up. It should clean up to look brand new looking. As for the "LandCruiser" decal, I would suggest applying paint by hand with a brush (ends up being thicker than spray). Having the Land Cruiser badging being thicker rubber, the letters themselves will see next to no flexing and should stay painted.

You can use the rubbing compound/polish on all your taillights, marker lights, signal lights, and any other rubber on the vehicle. All the compounds are doing is acting as an abrasive and removing a slight layer revealing new rubber/plastic.

I'll try to find a picture of what I did to my oxidized corolla taillights.

As posted above, I said I would toss up some pictures of the taillights I buffed up with rubbing compound then turtle wax. I also painted the white line on the top to replicate the JDM Redline taillights found on the Levin in japan.

$15 or less people, $35 left. Enough to buy a 2-4.

Far out, fxxx if i ever felt the need to have a pistol mounted on my consol i'd be way overdue for a relocation.

If I feel a need to have lethal force that close at hand, I think I'd put the $30 into my gas tank and drive somewhere else.

I bought it from Wal-mart, they had several colors available.

I hand painted the letters using Testor's enamel paint for model cars. It's also easier than trying to mask around the lettering.

for six bucks, get a bottle of mothers back-to-black. that stuff will make mud flaps, bumper caps, and just about all of the black rubber on a 60 look brand new, and it only takes a few minutes.

... if you have an 60 or an 88 62 without the shoulder belts in the back, you can use the pre existing threaded holes to mount an extinguisher out of the way...

if you don't have those rear belts, you can also just grab some off a 62 and bolt them right on to a 60 for a little less passenger whiplash into the backs of the front seats :bang:

Fabulous, cain't believe Kevin didn't get that sorted out when he did his seat flip.

perfect for dog leashes/dooly bags (empty).

Great mod

was tinkering on the 60 today and had thought come to mind...

for a little extra storage, why not try putting a set of front door map pockets on the rear doors??

Not all 60s had the threaded inserts in the C-pillar. My '84 did, but apparently some earlier ones didn't. You can feel them under the fabric trim, so no need to slice and dice only to find out they're missing.
