Aren't you going to drop my old engine in? My clutch was working fine...

I am still debating. I am going to be using your clutch and probably carburator for sure. I should probably just use the whole engine and bring it on down. After playing with the one I had longer it seemed to start every time and run well and also there were a few differences between the engines but nothing major. Who knows I change my mind every few days on this one.

Color turned out perfect. Screwed up a few spot but otherwise looks pretty good. So smooth you could lick it...and other spots it looked like I drewled on it ...Got the last coat a little wet in a few spots. I was getting more and more confident as I went and it was looking better and better and then........to much hahahah. Yeah wet sanding.

I'll remember the camera tomorrow and take some pics.

impressive. I just picked up an 83 on a whim and have no idea what I'm going to do with it. Unfortunately my dad is a carpenter and even when faced with a mechanical challenge he uses a hammer.

Nice going here,

Considering your creations for the 80 I don't think you will have any problems restoring a 40.

So I took pictures today. It turned out great and I love this paint color in the sun. But I forgot the camera at work. Hopefully nobody nabs it...but it is kinda hidden...hence why I forgot it. But it all turned out great and started tearing down the other engine. Hope to have it all the way stripped down and cleaned up and put together by the end of the weekend.

School Starts on Monday so slow progress for a couple of weeks after that. The Christmas break better be productive if I'm going to get this thing back together and running.

Well I got some work done today on the engine. I'll put up some pictures of that tomorrow.

Here is the paint job. Not the best pictures but gosh I love this paint.

Can someone tell me why this wire is here around the oil line? It was wrapped as you see it and tucked in down in the valley the oil line comes up in.

Also can I put that side cover on the engine without a gasket? I was figuring I could just use RVT or something like that since I don't have one. But it has a flat mating surface and ridge on the cover itself.

Wire around oil line?

Maybe to keep the nut from falling down the hole?

Forgot the camera again. That and a few essential parts to put parts of it back together. But it is comming along slowly. I can't get the grease and dirt off of the tranny/tcase to save my life. I used my pressure washer and grease cutter and even the super skinny nozzle but it didn't work worth a crap. Everything is basically back on except the intake/exhaust as I forgot the gasket and I'll put the tranny/tcase back when I get it cleaned up and inspected. Engine looks great though.

I start school again tomorrow so I will only have 1 hour in the evenings wed-Friday and then the full weekends. I need to really have the engine back in and the front end completely rebuilt by then. If I can get that far it is time to put the body back and I hope things will move quickly at that point. My Jan 12th deadline is not looking very opptomistic!!!

Grab your wrench's little soldier and keep moving......actually your doing a awesome job. Especially with your work schedule and your family time. I'm rooting for you and checking in daily. Z

Here is a few pics. Got a lot done today

Soldered wires in harness. Put new electrical tape around entire loom. Tore apart gagues cluster to clean it up and repaint the indicators. Put the wiring harness in and hooked up all of the knobs and switchs. Cleaned up and put the windhsheild wipers in as well as a few other small things here and there. Waiting on some funds to put the new windshield in. I officially went over budget today and need to wait until the new year to dump some more money into it.

Got the dash pads on (ruined the top one taking it out..would have been more careful and got a dash pad for it if I knew how expensive it was).

Cleaned up a few other parts like the steering column and dash parts and they will be going in tomorrow.

Started off the day by putting in the new body mounts (very nice I might add). Cleaned up the Carb and will be putting it on along with the fuel lines and pump tomorrow. Also got the front fan blade on and hoses (missing one part though hopefully I can find it under the leaves outside). Will be putting the radiator in as well.

Hoping to finish up the wheels tomorrow as well. I think the dark tan color will look good with the olive green color.

More to follow.

If you haven't noticed it already, you are missing the heater hose tee that goes in the lower radiator hose.
It was rotted all to hell and I just used a piece of exhaust pipe to couple the two hoses together temporarily.
