So kinda productive. I got it running a bit better. Still doesn't like to start without a shot of start fluid (maybe I need to hook up the choke). But once it runs it runs great. I tore it apart a few days ago and the carb was full of crap...of course becuase I had never cleaned it after dipping it in that rust disolver. So yeah cleaned it all out and no fuel delivery issues. Most of the jets were clogged and the float bowl pin would not release. Now that this is fixed no problems. Not saying that I wasn't still getting enough PSI but it works great. I also stuck that fuel pump in with the pen spring and seems to be working great.
Yesterday I did a little wiring tracing and am now getting ready to finish up the turn signals (I think the relay is bad) and wire up the brake lights.
Today I got it registered and insured. Then I drove it with my buddy following me down the back roads to the exhaust shop. This way I can start it up without defening myself. I should be able to pick it up tomorrow pending work schedule and weather.
I found some problems with my brakes and maybe someone can help me. I'll try to clearly expalin it.
It takes 3 pumps of the brakes in order to build pressure.
#1: I do not have air in my lines
#2: I believe the shoes are adjusted correctly but one of them may be a "BIT" lose
#3: When the car is off and I push the brake pedal it shoots air thru the intake and back out the carb. When driving that extra air goes back in and tried to kill the engine (sometimes succeding).
#4: When I suck on the check valve air comes thru. When I blow on the check valve on the brake booster no air goes in.
Is it my brake booster or is it my check valve. I'm not really sure how all that works.
More pics of exhaust tomorrow and if someone could get me a roll bar this way I would have the soft top on and be road legal and ready to enjoy by St. Patty's day.
