Ok! Got the oil pressure sender swapped (83520-60011) and happy to report a much more dynamic oil pressure gauge. It was completely covered in grim and oil when I got to it, though it didn't appear to have any leaks itself. Getting tithe sender off wasn't too hard:

- Remove the two electrical leads. They just slid off by hand.
- Get wrench (9/16 worked for me) and wrench it off at the neck. Its much higher than hand tightening.
- Remove and quickly swap to the new sender. A medium rate oil drip ensues as long as a sender is unscrewed. You dont need a pan or anything but you definitely want to put some kind of catch underneath. Cardboard would work. I have a garage matt that did its job.
- Hand screw the sender on, then wrench back on. How tight? I'm not sure.
- Put the connectors back on. Once I put the white one on, I couldn't take it back off. 🤔

New sender screwed in:

I think I got it screwed in about as far as the old one. I found ~3 threads exposed, which is approximately what the old sender had grime on. I was afraid to over tighten with the wrench. It was definitely in a few turns past hand tight. I could have maybe wrenched more but was afraid to strip or over tighten.

I'll be monitoring for leaks, and I guess use that as a sign to tighten more.

Grime marks on the old sender.

The other weird thing I ran into: once I put the connectors on the new sender, I could not get it off. I guess there is some kind of lock on the white one? Not sure why it was so easy on the old one.

Any ideas appreciated.

Two other bonus tasks:

Dang! My Amayama order was cancelled. Kind of expected this, but it was worth a shot! Said 10+ in stock even. Trying over at megazip, also in stock, but guessing will get a similar outcome.

Lots of parts today:

Also did some research on alternate EGR valves, though this all failed:

It very much seems like the way to go on the emissions systems is to just delete:

Also picked up a 04 GX470 or the wife/fam!

Um, that’s a GX, not an LX470. Think Prado/4runner variant.

Let's see, any good updates:

- Fixed the RR door jam courtesy switch (84231-12070 Delta and partsorq had the best price on these: Delta Vehicle Systems - Toyota OEM Door Switch). Had to remove the rear panels to access the rear of this thing.
- Fixed the RL door lock from an OEM equivalent ASIN lock:

Just pulled the failed door lock motor! PITA!

And it’s the same as the rock auto lock I just bought! Did someone already replace these motors with ASINs and they already failed?

Does anyone have a photo of the OEM part to compare?
- Replaced the Rear Left Run Channel (68152-60011, right channel next 68142-60011)
- Replaced the PCV valve and grommet (12204-35040 90480-18001)
- Replaced the valve cover gasket and Engine Valve Cover Grommets (11213-61020 90210-13001 x4 (well, the mechanic did, looking for oil leaks)
- Fix the steering wheel trim column cover (45286-60953-C0):

PO kinda destroyed the RL vapor barrier. Going to order some new ones and replace soon:

I found this little guy in my wiper fluid tank. Maybe it came off one of these hoses? Anyone know? (Filter basket for scale)

- I was curious what the "Mat" was for the stock center console (58916-60010-03). Well... its a small $2.76 piece of OEM carpet for the box

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also been swapping door trim plates, mine were all toast. Delta VS's pic.

Also replaced the air filter and cleaned it up (lots of grime inside) with an OEM filter: 55670-60010

Also replaced the EGR Vacuum Modulator (25870-61020). Didn't seem to make a difference.

Also did some failed research on EGR valve stand-ins. No success though:

Ok, got it. Its an EGR valve alright, but the mount is totally different. Maybe McGeorge will be cool about the restocking fee since they did list it as 'fits' on a 91 FJ80:

I would say this is a no-go for the 25620-65011. I guess an unless someone can find a compatible EGR valve, probably the long term solution is an EGR delete kit:

Upgraded the center console lock assembly with the spring loaded lock striker (58908-60010-B0).

Also got a replacement observation plate cover 3511860010 from Cruiser Parts. Was a litter nervous but they were quick to ship. Definitely a part pulled off a junked car, but thats okay. Cool to have access to something rather than nothing.

Next up, steam cleaning the engine to help track down some annoying/messy oil leaks. Will post before and after pics. Mechanic thinks its rear main. I think it could also or instead be oil pan based on the testimonies here. Engine probably needs to really come out either way.

That's a screen that goes over the washer pump inlet.
