I cant skip anything after reading this thread.
I cant wait two years though...

Must work quickly but still keep the quality!
Thanks for the resource, inspiration and ENVY TOO!
extremely nice 40!!

Ant....you are an INSPIRATION...awesome awesome job. I am in Cotton land cruisers with Bodean, who posted earlier, we mostly live around Jackson. PM me if you are ever headed our way. We have a few air force guys and retirees....I don't fly um I just jump out of them but we would love to hang out and SEE this unreal rig.

BUMP for a great resto!

Thought I would hit this build thread again. Truly a textbook example of one fine restoration. Awesome job Ant. Most importantly, thanks for your Service.

and a little bit of wheeling at GSMTR (2nd pic)

got an OCD bimini on it now and will probably be putting the top back on it here in the next month or two

oh and i finally got the bib lights all wired up as blinkers and installed of course i don't have any pics of that though..
Drool...just spent the last hour reading on this build. Great job and good luck in the airforce. Its men like you who we appreciate watching our ass out there. Great build and thank you!!!

WOW nice ride

hey all.. been a while since i updated on this truck.

the good - still running strong!

the eh - the paint has faded to look more green

started making a new soft top for it.. just posted some pictures in the weekly cruiser thread. about a year ago I had the stock oil gauge die on me and decided i wanted some after market back ups. here is my finished result.

some info. Tied directly to my battery (with inline fuse.. the same wire my radio runs on) I can turn the gauges on and off with that push button on the panel. The panel was $12 from summit it is an auto meter two gauge panel and bolts right up to the factory screw holes for the dash pad. The gauges I had from my old truck.

are you really making a soft top......gotta see this?

this thread and your time/patience/result still blow me away

just read through your build...nice work esp for the work environment. Sweet job brother and good luck in your travels.

thanks! reading your thread got me motivated for this weekend to get a ton of work done. i guess that means i need to post a pic for those who weren't there..

also on a tech related note.... i've always had a loud buzz/vibration driving or accelerating through 40 mph. Deceleration through 40 mph would cause it as well. I also would get a ton of deceleration when letting off the gas in fourth gear - almost like when applying the brakes.

After running my truck on its first trails (and putting the pedal to the floor in second gear/4 high multiple times) the truck has no more vibration at any speed and the engine coasts more after letting off the gas.... that along with a broken in suspension makes this past weekend a success!

yee haw

verrrryyy muddy. this is the reason for all the straps! those tires had 16 psi... the passenger front tire isn't touching the ground.

thanks again to everyone who prevented me from rolling

i did! verry cool - thanks for the write up! Did you hear we almost got stuck out on trail 16 at superlift? Thankfully we were actually "one more hill away" from the trail exit.
