i think im officially over the hump.

I was going to leave the dash alone but there was one small speck of dust to the right of the cluster so I wet sanded it with 1500 and 2000 grit and buffed it out. Couldn't be happier with the results

finally today I put the bedliner on the inside. sometimes I hate prep work. Taping the truck off and putting little rolls of tape in all the holes took many many hours.

Don't have a current picture but the truck is almost running and driving. Having a hard time getting fuel to the carb right now. New everything in the fuel system. Engine runs with gas down the carb. I can suck a mouth full of fuel right before the filter.

How have people solved the 3 speed on the column and headers issue? I am going to have to swap out for a stock exhaust manifold i think.

Some home made fixes include a bicycle brake cable for the inner core of the throttle cable. A tractor throttle cable from tractor supply for the choke and hand throttle cables. And a spark plug boot for the 3 speed shifter arm bushing.

Pictures...

Cut old wire off throttle cable and use a dremel to dig a trench for a new cable. I used solder to weld in the new wire. Then shape it with a file. Then reassemble.

Shifter arm bushing. I cut the two holes in with a razor blade.
