Really interested in the hot dip galvanising the chassis, have heard the chassis could twist from the process?
Any truth behind that and would you need to check the dimensions of the chassis after the process.
Seems like a great option for beach work and corrosion prevention.
Enjoying the work your doing.

I've found the galvanizing to be a non issue, I did my other 40 frame over a decade ago, and a lighter gauge m416 trailer without any warping. When I have this one done I'm actually thinking about throwing in a set of fenders and hood to see how they turn out.

here’s a few shots of how it turned out

ooooh. a/c too!! i like it! what system are you using inside the vehicle?

I may not even use this engine for this 40. I've actually been looking for a clean donor 60 to stick this particular engine into. Im using it for mock up. This 40 will most likely receive a B diesel variation, either a 3b, 3bii, 15bf, or 15bft. Either engine, the trans will stay in the same location. I may also build up one of my other 12hts at some point for this truck. I like options. I doubt I'll do a.c. since it will be an FST rig.

where did that transmission crossmember come from? Looks really good

If you have to pull the tranny/transfer case some point in the future that tubular cross member will force everything (to include the motor) to have to go out the front. But that might be someone else‘s problem in 30-yrs 😆.

Nope, there is ample room to tilt the engine back and it slides right out.

Took some measurements from my other 40 and ended up spacing the rear trans isolator up 1/2" to match the driveline angle. Since I don't have a tub sitting on this I can't really tell how much higher I can push the tcase up but this is where my other 40 is at and it doesn't hit the body on it. I suspect the Aqualu tub probably has a bit more clearance.

I may have missed it, but who is the supplier of that cross member/ skid combo? It is beefy!
