Typical , everyone is to reliant on what computer says. As if it is always right!

Yeah aquatiger people are stupid and only think of what the computer tells them. Look at all the idiots playing on their "smart" phones!!!! "Smart phones" stupid people!!!! I really enjoy watching them walk into things and people.................tools!!!! New York was equally misinformed when I lived there...................thank god I left................just wish I left sooner. I jus picked up a '76 that was repainted Freeborn Red.......original color???????????? Mustard Yellow!

Yes, such a great thread. Learned SO much.

Labor Day weekend picnic, SSCR's work was a huge hit.

The kids at the picnic were all just staring at it, in awe, and wanted to climb in. Adults too.

Awesome that you keep the original thread updated...

I got some more stuff from Beno, finally installed the little bumper on my tire carrier latch and put the repro bumper from @overton. I also mounted a new little spring on the carrier handle, looks like that should be factory right?

Did you already have the little spring hanger that is held on by the two bolts? I have the pin that the spring attaches to, but the hanger is gone. It appears to be NLA from Toyota.

oh man.im sooooooo deep into mine with blood and love alone, not including the wheelbarrow of money, i could never sell mine.....Congrats to the new owner !!

Could never sell mine either.......................what an addiction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great seeing this thread open again, learned SO much here!

Yes it already had the hanger on it. Although it was just a bent piece of steal as I recall, and shouldn't be to hard to reproduce. I forgot how crazy I was about the details on that project, yikes. Thanks!

:clap::clap::clap: Unbelieveable.......what a masterpiece. Thank you for sharing. I am just starting my journey with my 1980. Please forgive my future questions.

Will do.

Replaced my valve cover gasket and valve cover seal washers with oem and got my air cleaner on.

Not too happy with the lid, this was powder coated by the guy that did all my blasting and is not near the quality of all my other stuff that was done by an old high school buddy. Still have to drop more stuff to be powder coated so this will be getting redone also. Might as well look perfect before I stick one of Shane's repro air cleaner stickers on it.

Also sanded down my shifter arms to bare metal and laid 3 coats of an industrial enamel on them. Felt like a Dexter laying out the plastic for over spray.

Tomorrow I have 4 buddies coming in the morning to set the tub on the chassis! Took some time today laying out the new body bushings so I wasn't scrambling with my buddies holding the tub.

The first photo. The "wing nuts" that hold the air filter top on....They have a rubber washer or insert in them. How did you replate those without damage to the rubber? Or is the rubber insert removable?

Those will be powder coated too, I have a new oem license plate hood in pewter and my powder guy said he can match it. I'll post the exact code when I drop the stuff off.
I have read your thread twice and can not find where you shared the code for the "pewter" powder coating code. Would you mind sending that to me? Thx
