Awesome restore.

Sorry guys and I reached out to powder coater and he also dosent recall the exact mixture we used on my pewter items

It's on all the recipeits but I gave them to the new owner, I just picked a paint chip that was super close to stock and went with that. I'll keep digging and see if i can find the exact code.

SSCR, please tell me where to look and I will find it for you if you sent it to me. I have all the paperwork, etc. Or give me a call.

Finally finished all my doors' weather-stripping. One thing I wish Toyota did like older GM cars was to use the little clips to hold the weather-stripping instead of glue. That was the last job I was really dreading, including the wire harness and brake lines.

I'm doing this tomorrow, when you masked off your line top and bottom, how long after a fixing the weather stripping did you wait to peel off the masking tape? I assume you used the 3m black 8008 adhesive which is a contact glue? Did you lay down a bead of glue on the door between your tape lines, then mush the weather stripping on the bead to flatten it out and apply to stripping? Or did you apply to both the door and stripping and spread each bead before placing?

I used the correct 3M glue, found it cheapest on Amazon. First I applied the tape lines and then I applied the glue to the door and the stripping and waited for it to tact up. I then applied the stripping and let it set for about 30 minutes and then slowly pulled the tape away. Hoe that helps-

Yeah, all I wanted was garage space. The wife got closet space.

By the way, that video is 2x speed. I just figured no one would want to watch an FJ very....slowly....descending.

I parked the Defender on top of the lift, above the FJ, just to keep order in the military world. No offense to SSCR's build, which continues to get amazing feedback from everyone who sees it. As a plus Colonel Mustard is further removed from the tons of salt we use here in NJ.

Very impressive. I'd have a hard time not installing a projection screen in front of it(similar to a bike trainer).

The Defender is one very cool rig as well, could we pry to see some pics of it as well??

Another gorgeous rig, thanks for posting it up!! What year is your Defender? My girlfriend is a huge fan of them, are there some years that are more desireable than others???

Thanks. Mine is a 97 soft top. 97 was the last year they were brought here, and also the only year of the automatic transmission.

I'm not sure which would be considered more desirable, but my guess would be the 97 soft top is more marketable because of the transmission being more usable by folks who can't drive a stick. The look hasn't changed much between the years of Defenders, kind of like the G wagon. I think if you can buy any and drive it that's desirable. They are fun.

Took the time to review this entire thread, impressive and nicely documented. Great job! I have never seen that lift before, stellar method of storage and display, will have to share with my P-Club buddies.

What a great storage system and of course two fantastic rigs as well.....................
