Nah, Bill didn't meet us until the MLK run, sort of. He ran with some GA boys the first day before catching up with us at the mansion, I mean cabin. He did leave *quite* an impression on Tellico Rob and the rest of the crew from GA.
I was at Cullowhee but I don't remember a busted pinion or a Taylor. I do remember a big mud hole with a ledge and a cold rainy windy night on top of a mountain.
If that was the trip I guess I didn't meet him and I missed JPs debacle somehow.
I spent the first night in a cabin the second on a mountain. I left the next morning with Logan before anyone (save Eric) got up and I went to bed early night before. Didn't meet anybody new that I recall.

[Edit] Now I understand my apparent faulty memory. I didn't see Rick's second post above. That must have been on the way when I was typing the first part of this. It all makes sense now. Infojunky was talking about an earlier Cullowhee trip.
I enjoyed meeting Taylor (finally) at Aunt Sue's yesterday. He's a delightful fellow and I'm sure I would have remembered him. I thought oldtimer's disease had finally caught up with me.
Love to all.

Crap! Im not going to be able to make it. I've been planning on this trip for a while and then something comes up at the last minute and now I have to set this one out. Oh well, at least that makes for better odds on the raffle.
Had a good time at the meeting and a great time wheeling and camping last night. Thakns to Alan for allowing for us to spend the night on his property. The trail was overgrown in spots so I was soooo happy for my cheap-o paint job - I think that was a good decision. The trail wasn't difficult but had a few places that were fun. The weather was great and it isn't even that bad to sleep in my new bucket seats as I forgot my tent!
Marshall and I headed straight out while everyone else hung back. Hopefully someone will post up some pics as my camera battery died this morning.
It was good to see several new faces. We had two new guys who went into the camp site with us. One still needs to get a screenname...
Thanks Alan for the great camping spot, not too much danger of drunk Harley riders wandering through camp.
Thanks Marshall for a great ending to a great year. Now that you're a heartbeat away you can do even more since the routine stuff is handled elsewhere.
After Steve and Marshall left we headed downtrail but generally decided discretion the better part of valor. Then while John and Rick/Cat headed to the big city JP, Juan, myself and our co-drivers Chuck, Maria and Carl looked in at Mtn Estates where discretion was left at the trailhead. Pretty fun until the mafia faked a stuck, stole my golden chain and ran away laughing hysterically.
A good time was had by all. Bonnie got some more character. I got to know some more UCers and the weather was superb.

We had a great time this weekend! Camping was a bit more chilly than I had planned for, but the fire kept us warm and Alan had plenty of dry firewood to last us. Thanks again to Alan for leading us in and letting us stay on his property. The trail ride this AM was short lived because of the overgrown canopy, although we did prune, chop and break a few low hangers for the next time we go up there.
A big thanks to BFGoodrich for the awesome raffle prize. Well worth the price of admission Now we just need to find Kitty a Scout or Wagon to put them on. We found a sharp looking FJ60 right next door to us and took some photos. I haven't called yet, but looks like it has been running good from the very few oil spots we saw. The bad news is it looks like they put an Earl Shieb paint job on it. Some bad masking job in places including the door seals. Doesn't look like much bondo, if any at all. No rust under the rockers either. Will post up pics once I call the guy.
