We discussed location and dates at GSMTR, majority favored Wind Rock. The park will lets use the RV pavilion (which has power) for free if rent some RV spaces, which are mostly booked through the first of the year. So I went ahead and reserved the last 4 large spaces, the pavilion and the primitive spaces behind the pavilion for October 27-29, 2017. If you all don't want to do this I can cancel the reservation, so speak up.

My name is Joey and it's not Mat's truck either, unless he lived in California which is where I got the 450 from. There's a thread on here somewhere with my first post kinda freaking out after my low-ball eBay offer got accepted and asking the forum if it was a good purchase lol! Thankfully the truck is as solid as I hoped and tackled Wooly's and Adventure Offroad with my know-nothing self at the wheel basically stock, no issues. Can't wait to have it kitted out and beefed up!

I'm sure others will chime in here, but choose your mods carefully and don't go throwing a bunch of junk on your rig before you learn how it lives and breathes. Drive it and decide what you want to do with it. A classic setup on an 80 is 3-4" lift on 35 inch tires, but 33's will work for daily driving and occasional trails. Bigger than that requires a bunch of "extra" add ons to get the geometry right, gears, etc... Then there is all of the armor options. then electrical (dual batteries, interior LED mods). Its too much all at once, LOL

What Joel said with one exception, sliders are a must with any full body vehicle.
Don't need to break the bank, Trail gear makes a set that Summit and others sell for $208 with free shipping. They are not bolt on ,require welding.

Speaking of those sliders.Does hunters truck still have cats? If so did these offer any protection for them?

Yeah, I don't think I'm going overboard with the mods, just several things at once. Basically my original idea for steps 1 and 2 are going to happen together. Birf rebuild/casters/cooling system/maybe head gasket along with sliders/front bumper/winch.

Would have done more piece by piece over the winter but my old hobby (motorcycle racing) bit me in the ass (destroyed my elbow) and I had to do a lot of healing before I was physically able to work on the truck.
