Road trip tunes. It's always good to get out on a long road trip and see the good Ole USA. Family gatherings, old fashioned oven baked turkey, black Friday traffic, college football in Norman, OK., and miles upon miles, hours upon hours, of hammer down driving across the plains up to the mountains.

One song came on and summed it all up.

Almost 3,000 miles down in the last week, more to come tomorrow.

Amen, this is such a beautiful country. Wife, dog and I just got back from 2 weeks on the road. Clocked 4000 miles. Ate my weight in Turkey, Pie, and car snacks.

Just got back 2 hours ago.

Finally made it back to the mountains, now to get my 40 out of the garage tomorrow morning and get back to a normal vehicle. We drove a rental down and back, fully loaded GMC Yukon Denali, waaaayyyy too fancy for my style. That thing has all the stuff, lane control, cameras, heated/cooled seats, all of it.

Time to take my 40 up to the mountain and go skiing.

Oh yeah. I also liked their song Twilight Zone.

Another oldie but goody is "Lunatic Fringe" by the group Red Rider with Tom Cochraneon lead vocals.

Years ago there was a movie called Vision Quest that is one of my all time favorites. The movie starts out with Lunatic Fringe playing and a high school wrestler (played by a young Matthew Modine) warming up for the match of his life. Great movie, great soundtrack with Journey and others, and SMOKING HOT Linda Fiorentino. Here's the trailer from 1985:

With the photos you have shared previously of the mountains and the snow, when my wife showed me this short video I knew I needed to share it with you:

That bulldog is living his best life!!!

Yes he is!!! Love it! This is THE sidekick dog to ride along in your FJ40 if you live where there is snow. And it does not matter how many times I watch this short video, it makes me smile from ear to ear every time!!!

And if you don't have Instagram (I don't, my wife showed me) maybe this link will work for you. There is sound, so if you don't hear anything look for an unmute button:

Well might as well put a for sale sign in the window now.
