One of the girls we were skiing with went into a tree well today, took probably 15 minutes to get her out of it. Even with skis on the snow was every bit of chest deep, without skis.....might as well of been swimming.

I did a lot of search and rescue training with several ski patrols when I was an instructor… our tree well training haunts me to this day.
