What symptoms other than hesitation/stuttering? Some white smoke?
Try some Diesel HotShots additive. Can get at Walmart.
none that I can tell when it happens, usually looking out the front when it happens. when I can see the exhaust under load it appears to be black. I run additives.

Finally got around to replacing the front tank fuel pickup and level sensor. Didn’t see anything obvious that might cause the hesitations I sometimes get under full throttle climbing hills. The pickup filter was missing on the old one, don’t know if I knocked it off when I removed it or it fell off by itself over time 🤷‍♂️.

Other than the fuel pick-up and sender, what else did you order (or wish you had ordered) for this job?

My fuel gauge is acting wonky, going to empty randomly, even though I just filled up. I've started using the trip odometer instead of trusting the fuel gauge. I figure if I have to drop the tank to trouble shoot, I might as well have some new parts on-hand to stick in there. Did you order new hoses and clamps?

You can access the fuel sender from the floor, there is a round cover you remove, you don’t need to drop the tank for that. I did get some fuel hoses but didn’t use them, yet. I also got new tank straps and hardware for them, I didn’t use any of them. I also got new breather one way valves and replaced that one. As lon as the hoses don’t leak I will leave them alone, I tried to get the clamps back in their original positions.

Huh. Never noticed the cover. I have an interior 'build-out' as they say (plywood base with cabinet/benches) . It's probably easier to drop the tank than pull the interior out. I'd hate to pull the interior out, only to find that the access cover was something they added on later 75's

There is also an older PN for the gauge- 83320-69035. For some reason it is cheaper (from Partsouq), and has the correct electrical plug for our older vehicles.

Got some privacy installed.

Were you able to figure out the two different absorber part numbers? The only difference I could see between 30010 and 87005 in the parts catalog seems to be that the former is 44 mm and the latter is 49.

Hello,

The longer absorber fits folding windshields. The clearance between mirror and glass is slightly longer in these.

Last camping trip for the year. Is it camping when you go with friends with a camping trailer?🤣
Went to the Resurrection Pass Trail Head out of Hope. It’s about 10mi as the crow flies from Anchorage but about 87mi one way by road. Cruiser still having studders at the engine when under load. On the way back it seemed to be worse, doing it on little inclines too.
Yesterday went to the end of Palmer Creek trail, some abandoned mines at the end. Already have posted plenty of pictures from there so just a few with the end of fall colors.

Camping spot
Mornings were around freezing. Buddy heaters sure add to the moisture content in the tent with two people when it’s cold out. Need to make sure I get the Espar diesel air heater installed by next summer-dry heat
