SO to my horror, my brothers 1976 air cleaner housing upper and lower gaskets 17841-61010 are not only missing but no longer available:(. These are the identical gaskets that rest right below and right above the OEM filter element. What are people using? I would appreciate any input on this. FWIW the air cleaner cap gasket 17845-61010 is still available..............

it was a little while ago but i think i used sticky back EPDM foam (closed cell) in appropriate thickness and width for the top gasket. i stuck it on the filter itself. my used cleaner came with the bottom one. i also used quarter round EPDM bulb seal from mcmaster for the lid gasket.

I'm in absolute despair about all the discontinued parts.

It was twenty years ago right after buying my FJ45LP-B and tried ordering the 4X4 emblem on the tailgate from SOR only to find it had just gone NLA that I really starting collecting parts from junkyards. Prior to that collected a few but mainly because I couldn't afford new from Toyota. Twenty years later I wished I have collected a lot more instead of what I considered to be the rarer parts.

I have a stack of good used 2F air cleaner gaskets. Not looking to sell them by themselves, but happy to include with larger orders.

And yes, they were definitely mentioned to Racer.

Is this what we are talking about? Upper and lower are the same right? I'm pretty sure 17845-61010 is discontinued also.

I think it's time someone go to Toyota city in Japan, drag Mr. Toyoda out of his big office, and have a serious talk about fj40s and parts support and what we think of his actions.

Mr. Toyoda will say, "Please go buy my new 4Runner".

do you have a stock of those? i dont see them on the website

Supercool!!!

Bump! Anyone ever do a repro run on the 17841-61010 or 17845-61010

@Racer65 were you working on a solution?
