^^Nice!

Can an LX guy give pic/location if said plug so that the 100 guys can look for a match?

Darn. My 1999 LX does not have connectors. My wife's new outback has that lights and I find it useful. Especially when going to the farm at night.

Putting pfrans LEDs I to the doors helps some.

I have those too... it's not really a fair comparison.

I decided to add two more pods to cover the full bottom area, extending to the back of the truck so walking up-to-the trunk in complete darkness you actually have some light.

I'm actually VERY happy with the end results. I'm finding it very practical in terms of the extra convenience this light provides, and it makes it much nicer to work under the truck when lighting is not optimal (e.g., at night, not in a garage...) I already found them useful when rotating my tires this evening on my driveway!

Here are some pics to show the impact of adding two more 10watt pods (for total of 4 of them.)

1st picture. is just with the 2 I had before (for reference)
2nd is with 4 pods
3rd is also with 4pods.

I was also contemplating wiring an extra switch for these, so that I could keep them on indefinitely e.g., when packing up camp in the darkness. But then I realized that these also key off the door switches, so if you just crack on of the doors the lights will come on and stay on as long as a door is slightly ajar (e.g., when kids sometimes close the door and it closes and latches, but not fully... that is enough to keep them on.)

(sorry for the poor pictures, these are all with a cell phone. If there is interest, I'll get around to pics with a real camera soon.)

I'd suggest putting a kill switch on them so you can choose NOT to turn them on. Sometimes at camp it's nice to open a door and not have the sun turn on. I do like the lights you added, looks more complete now.

Since most of the electrical wiring for AHC is already installed on non-AHC vehicles, can't we just purchase the harness and plug it into the harness in the engine bay? Can anybody trace the running board light harness back to a main connector? It would be nice to have the ground lights turn on when unlocking.

Subscribing. I bought some of those rock lights on the cheap during the Black Friday sale last week.

I think I may actually have bought 10 or 20 pack of the white LEDs and not known it, so if someone needs a few I can probably help you out.

After installing sliders and the pfran lights, I've decided not to pursue this one. For those that are curious, here is the end result of the LED's ability to project enough downward to clearly see the sliders... Crappy phone pic doesn't do it justice.

Unless you have the courtesy light port on your tuck, I'd personally abandon ship... Not sure if it's worth it.

Any update on finding that harness routing and/or part number?

I just got an idea that would require more effort but accomplish the same effect. Get 4 of these linear lights and wire them into the dome light wiring with a relay. The dome light will trigger the relay to power these as courtesy lights. In theory they should fade in and out just like the dome light but they would act as courtesy lights. Thoughts anybody?

This is just a crazy idea I thought of when I looked at these lights, I don't know how bright they actually are.

I like your kind of crazy. I want to see a video of them fading on and off with the dome light after you make it happen. Do it.

I bought some flexible led strips that have adhesive backing. Wired them behind the door panel with the courtesy lights after running the wiring through the same opening. The strip begins at the door light and extends forward about six inches on the face of the door panel.
Gives lots more light when the door opens to see where you're stepping.

I did that to my 80 and it worked out well. I switched all the 194s on my 100 with sylvania 194 LEDs which can be picked up at Walmart or Amazon. Those are nice and bright and so far in the past year none have burnt out. I can post pics of those if requested.

If you install a relay (which you should), there will be no fade up and down of light- relay is an on/off “thing” ;-)

Good info, thanks. Think there would be a way to retain the fade effect?
