Been a fun week workwise. Got to work in the Hood River Valley Tuesday. The drive through the Columbia River Gorge was insane with gusty east winds. This is the Corbett exit on I-84.

The closer you got to Hood River the more the wind let up and the colder it got.

Decided to drive around Mt. Hood instead of go back through the Gorge. The views of Hood were awesome.

Unfortunately there is a lack of snow for November. Normally lifts start turning this week.

Today was finishing up on the booster pump for snowmaking operations for Timberline Lodge. The 2 big booster pumps are 100 HP and push the water about 1,000’ in elevation so it can gravity flow to the Lodge.

The static pressure on the gauge to the storage tank above the lodge. This gauge when the pumps are running is over 600 PSI.

Not a lot of room to work. Had to squeeze through the stairs to work.

After work it was time to go up to the lodge for lunch. Just starting to dump heavy snow.

Got some time to finish the 80s rear axle tear down. I’m working on the brackets at the ends of the axle. How did you cut yours off? I’ve been using the Plasma cutter.
