I’m running the filter assembly from the 94 that I rolled 7 years ago and the felt gasket is still very much intact and adhered to the canister. Be confident that your HG is the only one that’s blown at this time.
Same with my and only a small bit of dirt

Pell like Steve said your felt is probably still attached to bottom of the canister as it should be.
How the hell do the mice find there way into the tuna can ?

Also there was nothing on my vehicle that matches that grid / lattice in my tuna can lol
Not part of your snorkel screen?

Mice are crafty little critters. Mine contained a nest and dead babies the first time I removed it after the purchase.

I pulled this pic from another thread so you could see the tooling you just got......

Hi all. And by all, I mean, the two of you.

I am mixing the 2-tone 97 minor rehab into this thread because idgaf.

The 2-tone needs to be sold. I need space and I want to prioritize my 94 because she is my first love and she is by far a much better cruiser overall.

The 2-tone is named Luna.

Luna stinks. She smells. And she blows hot and funky. I serviced her AC with a buddy of mine. Now she blows cold and funky.

I used the info from this thread: Cleaning AC System and Evaporator - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/cleaning-ac-system-and-evaporator.92253/

And got after some funk removal.

That delicate hand in the picture is my young son’s hand. :flipoff2:

Anyway, after blowing out the bottle into the condenser I didn’t see much gunk come out of the external drain. The smell is much better though. I emptied the frigi-fresh 708 into the external vents which I think are the cowl at the base of the windshield. If not, oh well.

The smell is markedly better. I’m pretty sure it is cat piss or mouse piss or idk. Either way, I might need another treatment to be rid of it altogether.

I found a kit on Amazon, they didn’t send me the fittings that we need for our cruisers so I found a BG dealer near me in Murfreesboro TN and they sent a kit free of charge in 2 days. Class act. I’ll be buying from them again soon.

This is where I woke up. I have everything even my dignity except my hat. This is a problem bc my bald head needs cover.

And when you place the engine on the engine stand, you do NOT place it so the center of the crank shaft is on the center of the head pipe of the brackt. You set it so the Center Of Gravity (COG) of the engine is near the center of the head pipe. Otherwise, you go to roll the engine over to work on the bottom and it slams over the top and tip over the engine stand or it flips upside down and you're not strong enough to roll it back upright.

BTDT.

Oh, and you NEED one of these.....

Engine Stand Drip Pan

Rear heater lines ordered! I ordered two sets. Why? Because I have to pull two engines. Whatever. YOLO!!!

rear heater? Pffft. You're not in the upper mid-west or Alaska. That space is for gubs for the co-pilot or subwoofers or sandwiches. Or the 10mm socket you needed whilst working under the steering wheel.

****ed with the rear diff lock actuator all motherfucking day. What a pain in my ass.

Opened her up. Check her out @Broski

I got in there. Reclocked the sonuvabitch and I must’ve taken it on and off 69 times.

She works. She is still sticky though. When I took her out for a spin the last time she locked up immediately and unlocked just fine.

I immediately tried to lock her again and she locked up BUT she wouldn’t unlock. No matter what I did, she stayed locked so I parked her and began smashing the actuator with a rubber mallet. No go. Tapped her with a hammer. No go.

Put a jack under her and as soon as weight off wheels, she unlocked.

What the **** now? Any ideas?

That’s normal if you run the locker on hard pack the axle twists a little bit and the locker won’t release until the pressure is released.
That thing looks really clean in there.

Right on, my '94 doesn't act all bitchy like this one. That's my only comparison, so I assumed it was acting up.
Time to clean it up and sell it! Unlike the person I bought it from, I will be upfront and honest. I am putting some money into it to make sure she is good to go.

Otherwise, she is a great platform to work with.

Are you selling locally?

No experience with the 80 series e-lockers, but from prior experience on other trucks with similar equipment - unlock, stop, put the truck in reverse and let the driveline "clunk" into gear and the lockers should pop off. If that's not the problem, by all means disassemble/ reassemble 72 more times.

Stop being such an aircraft mechanic. :flipoff2:

Work is happening….slowly!

I decided to remove the drivetrain since I have zero help and zero experience. Makes sense right?

I am taking everything out from the front so it’s easier to maneuver the drivetrain out.

Bagging and tagging everything as I go.

I’ll be here a while.
