I would at least pull the coil wire and crank it over to pump fresh oil into the bearings 🤷‍♂️
That is a lot of antifreeze in the oil.
Thanks to @BILT4ME, here’s what I did:
-Drained oil
-Drained coolant
-Refilled oil
-Put approximately 1 tablespoon of oil down each spark plug tube
-Cranked the engine until oil pressure registered about middle of gauge
- Put another tablespoon of oil in each spark plug tube
- Let it rest until I can rip this biotch apart

I think that covers it 👍😉

PSA: check your tuna cans.

I’m tinkering on the 97 two-tone to get it ready for sale. It needed a new air filter so I grabbed my washable off the 94 with blown HG and swapped her out.

I checked the tuna can. Here she is for your viewing pleasure:

I had to scrape the bottom of the can to dislodge the material that had accumulated over the years. I’m pretty sure the joker who owned this 97 before me didn’t know about the tuna can.

Also, my young son is in the garage with me. He helped me run a quick test for peace of mind:

I need to flex and exercise the rear locker on this thing, clean out the AC condenser, clean the hell out of the engine bay and the interior then it’s going up for sale!

Hopefully the rear locker actuator doesn’t look like this.
It’s only two years old.

My tuna can was filled with dog food. You’re not impressing anyone here. :flipoff2:

What the hells a tuna can?

It’s the small container that is attached with two clips underneath your air cleaner.
Interesting. Never heard of that until now.

how does one remove their tuna can? I have seen mine in the engine bay, and I have undone the 2 clips, but it does not want to twist or pull vertically, is it just pulling straight down to remove it?

Yep, exactly. It might be stuck on there, mine was when I went to take it off.

Very well designed air filter system !!

I'm going to add the Vacuum system to mine so I can clean out the truck.

Just start the truck, set the throttle about 2300 RPM, attach the intake hose, and vacuum out the truck!

There was an option that would originally attach in the driver's footwell where you could attach a hose kind of like a home central vac system.

What the actual F? @PNWTreeOctopus
Pell, dang man. If I lived anywhere close, I'd shoot over and help (I'm sure a lot of other would too). We can probably trace this all back to some improper headlight bulbs used when flashing the slowpoke in front of you. I encountered no less than 6 people with zero lights on in the dark last Thursday at about 7:45-8:10 pm. Not the auto driving lights only thing, full zero lights. I didn't flash any of them in the hopes that maybe people will start getting pulled over for stupid stuff again, instead of only getting yanked to the shoulder for HOV lane misuse (which is not inherently unsafe).
Sorry, I blacked out for a second there.

Found some flavor in mine!
Had to use a hammer and piece of wood to pound the tuna can out, will put a new felt gasket on here soonish, just glued that one back together :hillbilly:
If mine had a seal, it must’ve disintegrated ages ago.

I’m running the filter assembly from the 94 that I rolled 7 years ago and the felt gasket is still very much intact and adhered to the canister. Be confident that your HG is the only one that’s blown at this time.
