This has inspired me, I can't do this to my 97 LX450 it's just to nice. but i found a 94 (not very well cared for) with 236k and lockers local that i think i can get for around 2k...I'm thinking project truck.
I'll post if i get this truck for some ideas. Keep up the good work!:)

Nice meats...guess you were tired of those old 265's eh!

Drove by this a.m. and she looks better than ever.

If you are taking your bikes you should call me for either a 4 place hitch rack or 2 roof tops...

Great work. Damn I wish I had a neighbor like you.

Where are you in Ontario? I am from North Bay. The back drop to many of you pics looks familiar.

Yeah, the vibes at hwy speeds were killin me man. Those adventuros had to be replaced before I attempt the NS trip. Saw you this am turning on to wembley.

Gettin tired of that diesel whine yet............???? lol Who am I kidding.

Im in Sudbury Knor.

Update. Got a pioneer something or other deck and pete stopped by and put er in for me. I can finally listen to something other than the gay radio or the 1 tape I have left. Just have to wait for the pocket dealie to plug the hole under said new deck, ordered it today. Goddam theres a crap load of s*** to unplug when you take the dash apart.

Also got the light switch in for the aux lights. We put it in a blank spot beside my ffrr diff lock blank spot....... So Im one step closer to having functioning ipf's.

Oh, I figured out that if I drive the LC into the garage forwards it freaking fits man. Up until now Ive only tried to back it in. Its all about the angles.

Thanks again guys.

that is very nice! i like it a lot! i wonder how it would look with a tire carrier?

As far as a tire carrier goes I may get to that tomorrow...... maybe.

Im thinking about bumper mounted pivot points which would swing down instead of sideways. It would kind of look like a stinger on the rear but it would follow the rear tail gate and hatch lines.....if that makes any sense. I have the parts to do this so thats what inspired me.

great thread ! cool garage

Did the rear stinger/tire carrier/evil spike today. Sam the welder man was key to the project and a big thanks goes out to that guy. Pete and stretch were here but were just in the way lol.

Anyways, its mounted to the mid section of the rear bumper and swings down. I can open the hatch and tail gate once its lowered with clearance to spare. 2 Receiver pins/side hold it in the up position via 6 tabs, 2/side on the carrier and one per side on the bumper. The tire is held on using a threaded rod which is welded to the back side of the evil triangle. The rod is sleeved with a piece of tube and capped with a beefy washer that lets the rod stick through. Theres a backing plate in there somewhere too. on the back side there is a 1/4" thick square plate that acts as a washer which is sinched down with a big assed nut with handles welded to it........

Hope that makes sense..

Sorry guys, not enough band width. Gotta stop being a post whore..... End of the month theyll all be back up.

The van made it to ottawa with no problems. Tire carrier is rock solid and did not budge/rattle/shimmy one bit.

Ill take some nice scenic cruiser pics along the way.

Keep on vannin!

Maybe this will work.....

We made it to halifax last night with no issues to report. I have to say that I love traveling in a big assed van type deal.

The photobucket link works a treat fella - thansk for taking the trouble to post it up for us impatient types!!! ;-)

Loving your work on this rig - reckon I'll give the swing down route a try after seeing yours... Hope you don't mind :flipoff2:

I've just fitted +4" springs & dampers to my truck with 35's over the weekend & having monkeyed about with the rear bumper a while back, need somewhere to carry the spare. Will need to get myself a thread running soon...

Cheers
