Seam sealer. This stuff is supposed to stay flexible. Didn't really need to put it on the welds but I did on the underside and this is all under the floor mat so what the heck. There could be pinholes in the weld so this will seal it.

You have shown me many little tricks on body work, got a little one for you that a old body guy showed me.....

After you put the seam sealer on take a brush with gun wash and paint the seam sealer, makes it lay flat and smoooth..

Cool tip, thanks. I would imagine reducer or thinner would do the same. I just used a finger (and nitrile gloves on) and ran it along the seam sealer to push it in and get good bonding. Wasn't to worried about looks being under the floor mat.

Bumper is cut.

Nah, made someone else do it. "Plant Manager" means more than just watering the plastic plants.

Sure. He's gotta dust them too.

Ouch! The truth hurts! Good thing theres only one plastic tree to keep up. So far I've managed not to kill it. Knocked it over a coupla times, but didn't kill it.

You need to prepare yourself Kevin: it is going to be very hard to get me away from this rig in Moab...

Cleaned up all the masking mess and put away the painting supplies. Hung the doors and reinstalled the seats. I have to do the door seals and window channels on the doors still. Have to clean and install the foor mats. Really need a new floor mat, I wonder if they are still available?

Oh, and I got the bumper pieces home only to find that one was programmed with the wrong bend allowance and so one dimension was bad. Gotta make another one of the one piece. I blame Bruce. It was his idea to go with 3/16" instead of 1/4" but I forgot to change the bend correction on that one part before cutting and bending it. Made 1/4" difference to the one dimension.

Also picked up my newly cored rad.

Got parts at the powder coater and the plater. Getting all the bolts yellow cadmium plated so I can't actually assemble yet without bolts.

Waiting on parts from Kurt for the transfer rebuild (it leaks from everywhere) and the rear brakes (cylinders and shoes).

I'm such an arse hole.:grinpimp:

I thought that metal looked thinner than 1/4" You won't regret it.

damn, after seeing all this work and the idea you have to clean the interior, just to pass the OOP ... and i thought Ontario was bad for inspections!!

Imagine what they'll say about the scuffed-up floor mats.... You'll be lucky if they let you drive it home like that.

Maybe you need to move to NM where the rule is if the car will start, roll or shutter on its own, you can drive it.

No problem there, I covered them with an $11 set of mats fron Canadian Tire.

Used to be like that here to. Only vehicles brought in from out of Provence get inspected. Some insurance companies will force an inspection as well. At least AFAIK.

We have no air pollution laws at all for vehicles unless its smoking so bad its a hazard to other motorists. There is a noise law though, I believe, mostly directed at motorcycles.
