I too was very intrigued with this route however, I was less than keen on having multiple screens and such scattered around my interior so I resorted to the 52mm gauge route instead. I feel they will provide a much less intrusive look. My $0.02! Cheers!
It can be run to 52mm gauges or a phone/tablet.

What is everyone running for power supply?
I will eventually be adding a full fuse panel for lots of other accessories, but may just run an add-a-fuse on the drivers kick panel for the time being.
Not sure if there are any free switched 12v spots in there or not.

I've been kicking around the idea of one of these relax blocks, combined with a fuse block, but all in (with the tools for the thick gauge connectors) it ends up adding up pretty quick. Some cool reading from tacoma world on how to go about it:

For me at least, I would really like having a relay block and a fuse block (the blue sea 12 circuit = 2 independent banks of 6) with one bank being switched and the other always on. At that point, you have pretty much every connection you could ever need, tidy, and safe.

I really like that plan as well and really thorough power distribution is high on my list to do. I'm really itching to get my turbo in and temporarily going to run an innovate AFR/cheap boost gauge i have laying around from subaru builds until i have time to move into a 14-1 or something down the road.
Hoping someone has tapped a switched add a fuse for something similar for the time being.

that’s how I did mine for now, happy to send you pics of my setup, it’s pretty simple

Post em up if you don't mind. Worth having on here.
I know an add a fuse is stupidly simple to do - done em a million times on other cars for temporary stuff but curious where people are putting them on an 80.

Here is my "semi-temporary" setup. Once I get the relay box and all that sorted, I will do a HAM radio and two more gauges.

Alrighty, here is the Add-a-fuse (The top left one is for the gauge, the one on the right is for my LCPhil Fan):

Here is the relay mounted:

Here is the Fused power supply, if I remember correctly it splits with one leg going to the relay and the other going straight to the gauge:

So you're running 12v off the battery and just using the add a fuse as your relay switch power?
I'm trying to figure out how bad of an idea it would be to run an add a fuse AS the power source to a couple gauges for now.

After going back and forth a million times on what i was going to do with gauges i just pulled the trigger on the 14-1.
I have an innovate wideband and a boost gauge sitting in the cruiser, but can't find any mounting options i really like, and i don't want to drop a ton of money on a DVS center console right now. Hard to beat the amount of sensors/inputs on the 14-1 for the cost. I bought the full kit, plus wideband and sandwich plate adapter to run oil temp off of and it was $400 to my door with faster shipping.
I was liking the dual autometer holder in the center console but oreily can't get it for a few days and amazon is 1mo out for stuff (including my heat wrap for my locker harness and main harness:bang:)
I do wish the 14-1 was a bit higher end looking, but it'll do its job. Likely going to try and find a spot to stick it left of the steering wheel somewhere.

Dude you need my gentex mirror mount and then just mount it on there. 🤔

Hey Joey,

Can the stock mirror be reattached to the aftermarket arm?
Thinking of going this route for my 14-1 but don't want to upgrade the mirror yet.

Nevermind. Looked at the stock mirror and answered my own question.

I haven’t touched it since install. It could be mounted behind the dash. If I ever have it apart again, I would likely do that.

Curious where did you manage to stick the main control box? Thinking of where i want to try and wedge it under the dash or maybe even under the drivers seat. Or maybe under the center console.

Not much fancy stuff to see, but I snapped some pics of sensor locations.
Air Intake is on the air canister, oil temp & pressure are on a sandwich plate adapter between oil filter & block, boost is plumbed & going to secure to power steering bracket, AFR is on the down pipe.

@spyduh where did you mount your control box? With my sandwich adapter and routing the sensor wire over to the fender and back i only have 2' or so of wire within the cab. Looking for the best place to mount it. First idea is off the abs module but worried ill kick it/get it muddy/wet.
Did you extend the sensor wiring?

here for posterity’s sake & reference.
14-in-1 control box is tucked behind the metal colored box just under the dash & along the drivers fender.

Wires were all ran through the large grommet on the fire wall, next to the brake booster. (Disregard my brake booster currently missing).

Box for the sensors live under the Delta Console gauge plate. My sensor wires were way more than enough to reach all the way from engine to inside cab behind the gauges.

14-1 is done. Pretty damn impressed with this thing. Made a bracket that comes off the back of the HVAC stud/screw.
Wish it was just the display without the stuff around it but the alarm parameters are awesome. Mounted the unit with high tech zip ties above the brake pedal to a control unit of some type (honestly not sure which that one is).
Control switch is in the ash tray for out of sight but easy access.
Power is coming off a fuse tap on the gauge fuse until I can install a fuse panel.
Both the AFR and sensor hub require a 5amp fuse. They're T'd off the fuse tap and running a 10amp fuse for now. So far no issues.

Well my brother and I spent the day yesterday working on this bad boy. I am beyond stoked with how it turned out. I will let the pictures do the talking. Next step is the gauges, thankfully all of the wires are run and ready to be plugged in. Just need to run some power. Happy Mondayyyyyyy or whatever day it is.

Bump

Looks awesome. Do you have any pictures or thoughts on the finished product?

I personally could not be happier with them. There is no movement in the piece, meaning it should not rattle off road. The gauges and the rocker switch are easy to view and access from the drivers seat. I am over the moon about them.

The only thing I came to learn about them is that the really only fit then 95-97. Duuuuuuuh, right? :flipoff2:

If you are on Facebook, I have a more detailed post about them on the Toyota Land cruiser Association Page

Awesome!
Are you happy with that brand gauge? I am on the fence between these and PLX. I like the Innovate because i can get a water temp/voltage in one.

They are great. Very easy to read and the quality is very good. My only complaint was that I did not have the correct outlet on my laptop to tune and calibrate the warnings, so I had to buy an adapter. They use the VGA plug on their gauge for data transfer which makes it a little tricky but like I said, I like them a lot.
