I just gave the complete works, 3rd printing to a friend’s young son.

Wasn’t my idea. Ms Revenge came to the hard won understanding that these books were giving me peculiar ideas. So I figured it would be a good idea to pass them along in the hopes that the books might have the same profound affect on him as they had on me.

His father, although agreeable, made me promise not to tell the boy's mother. Something about her worries he may forgo his academic aspirations after reading them and take up full time adventuring or aimless wandering.

Not wanting to overtly arouse her suspicions, I reluctantly agreed on condition he and his son make the trek to The Land of Nod and help me move the raft I built in the storage building. It’s a big raft…Probably see it in the MUD classifieds soon.

Pic below. He’s the one on the left. 😁

Judging by the grin on his face, his mother may be three or four volumes too late.

My son is less of a bibliophile than my daughter so she will get the introduction. In fact, at 10, I think she’s just about ready.

Just kicken’ the can.

So, Ms Revenge is off doing revenge activities and I’m left to my own devices. While leaving the toilet seat in the male dominant upright position, I’ve had more than ample time to survey 2.0 door card options. Having no immediate adult supervision and full access to the house account “dream come true card”, I invested the princely sum of 120$ in a set of black, other than genuine, OE look alike door cards.

With this foray into the dark side of the color wheel, I have little to no expectations of appeasing the sultans of MUD with my sacrilege to grey door panels. I am navigating my way through the Feng Shui balance on the brown interior and I think these just may work. If not, I’ll add these for free in the classifieds section if you buy my recently built man raft.

Gotta say, I’m some what impressed. Then again, I’m easily impressed. I’m going to mock these up and post some pics later this week. Hanging a jump seat base pic to illustrate my point. Digital translation on the card is light and on the charcoal side. Images appear darker to the naked eye.

Waiting on some “smalls” to fully, on purpose mock these up.

I got a set of the ABS door cards from CCOT (I think) a few years ago and they are just fine and they will not get water logged. Look like those to be honest.

Show us a picture of the back of those door cards. I am curious to see if they are the same ones that came on my rig. At least on mine, most of the plastic tabs that hold the metal clips have broken off so instead of 12 plus clips keeping the cards in place, I have maybe 3 or 4 per side. I've been thinking of buying the Australian Door Cards in brown to somewhat match my seats. Did you consider those while you were left unsupervised?

I thought about the Aussie cards and having them color matched via PPG. @Catching Neutral mentioned that COA to me somewhere back a few pages. He’s looking at a similar situation after stepping off the factory color offerings train.

I do have the material to match the seats. My upholstery shop just won’t be ready until sometime this winter. The devil bats clean-up in idle minds so I hit the send it now button on a cart full of great ideas a week or so ago. They didn’t come with the clips for the cards or the inserts for the door. Those pieces may be in the mailbox this AM.

I am somewhat slow walking this particular driveway project. Between working on the Meade hall and slipping in the occasional bird hunting expedition, I’m left to mostly evening forays in the BG. I have to walk past the garage fridge on my way. One stop there usually means I end up on the Interwebs loading up the temporarily fascinated basket.

This Month is special and my evenings have been occupied with prepping for the upcoming holiday. It’s “Hunting Season Eve” here in the Land of Nod. Hoping this year the spirit of Jack O'Connor will slide down my chimney and leave me a new Winchester 270. All I got last year was a can of Beanie-Weenie’s. 🫤

Back of the card below. Some surgery/assembly required. Not sure if these are US, Columbian or other origin of manufacturing.

I have a set of the Aussie cards. Judging by the price/shipping they’re made of some yet unnamed rare material found only in the outback. Crocodile lips or possibly Masonite I think.

Marking time waiting on my shop to clear a backlog before they can take on my cards.

Ahh masonite... the stone vegimite.

Yes, they have masonite ones but their original product and the one I posted in the photo are ABS plastic. If I were to order the masonite cards I may as well stick to the OEM ones.

The ABS color you posted is NLA. At least from this vendor.

From their web page:

“What colour door cards do you offer? (Masonite and ABS)
Masonite - All our masonite door cards are supplied as blank masonite door cards and will require upholstering to your preferred colour and design.
ABS - We offer Black and Grey ABS, Brown ABS is no longer available and will not be back in stock in the foreseeable future”

That’s why I posted their page earlier.

I think that may be outdated. I was able to add them to my cart without issue.

Also, this was posted relatively recently on their web page.

It’s the little things:

Inserts for the door pulls arrived yesterday via USPS. Still had to place an order in to SOR today. I’m shy two of the rubber female inserts for the panels 🙄. If you’re curious it’s 11 per side not 10 per side for a 3/76 door. Fun fact: you need 11 male clips too.

I have new aftermarket door pulls/mounting screws, window cranks and Bezels waiting on deck. One of the Escutcheons is cracked so I ordered two.

I’m going to go the @GA Architect 3M tape application on the vapor barrier/dust shield.

Escutcheon is one of those words that just seems a little too proud of itself. It describes something that is literally a supporting roll. Based on the latin "scutum" or shield.

Anyway, looks good. Carry on.

With a classy build like Mule 2.0, I can tell you that these work great, they do not modify the framework of the window..it’s a nylon bushing gear that slips over the crank and fits into the motor ..you only need to enlarge the hole for the crank handle filler plug

Install is quite simple and I have seen them priced from $70.00 up

Power windows in a 40?
But then there are no escutcheons. What then?

H€££, I thought they were an ancient war like people of Italian descent. 😳

It’s time.

Moving the Meade Hall saga over to its own thread. I figure I can only post so many Meade Hall pics and write “Denso” to cover my tracks before someone figures out the “Facelift” thread is subverting the true intent of technical discussion.

Under “The Meade Hall”

All the way from Cali.

This should be enough hardware to mount the test cards. Probably not going to happen soonly. I’m off Sunday AM for at least a week of grilled meat, cold beverages and questionable hygiene 😳.

And let me tell you, there’s nothing like a frigid wind whispering over your dignity at 0500 in the morning to shock start your system and put you in a high alert, ready to hunt frame of mind.

I really need to get some indoor plumbing.

How it feels ordering from SOR nowadays.
