Thank you very much for the pictures. This documents so much detail. I need to make a couple of those chain bolt reinforcing plates. I never noticed that notch to clear the TG hinge, I had to go out and check mine. That is how they all were made based on pictures I have found.

I placed an order for the 71382-60010 bolts. We will see if they are really available.

Another thing I noticed, on your truck, it appears the rear quarter was made with the holes for the other style backup light but was changed to the odd duck 73 light at some point during manufacture.

And you have the gaskets or spacers behind the latches.

It looks like the latch actually overlaps the footman loop a little, I guess with the help of the spacer.

I show a pad on the latch but only up to 7/72. Really don't know the history on this cruiser. Someone hear me talking Land Cruisers and asked if I wanted another one. This was in 1994. Had the original licence plates from 1973. Tag expired in 1988. That pad looks to be too wide and thick. Not sure why the darker orange paint is there. Probably off the shelf spray paint. Pad looks like the original color. Couldn't see it leaving the factory that way. Story there I don't know.

I heard back, the 71382-60010 bolts are NLA per Amayama. I figured that was the case but it was worth checking.

That's been my experience. Show a part with a price and come back with NLA. They have gotten better about changing their site to reflect NLA. Still find some parts listed that are NLA. At least they are good about charging for a part or refund when they.

I'm trying to figure out the location of the tire carrier hinge holes. The body shop did not keep this piece, and the new rear sill doesn't have any holes in it for the bottom hinge. If I get the location of the top left hole, I can figure out the rest from there. Looking for the distance from the center of the hole to the rear opening and top of the tub rail. Thank you.

I got a little done this week. I put the glass back in the wing window frames and got the latch put back together on one of them. I screwed up and had two right side latches plated so I will have to get the two left side handles chromed now. I used 1/32 rubber class sealing tape.

I finished cleaning up the reinforcing plates for the wheel well connections. I think they turned out pretty good. A few days in the electrolysis bucket and a wire wheel. I also located all of the holes for mounting except the jump seats, I need the frames for that.

I forgot to mention, there are two different styles of wing window lock shaft and nuts. One is 1.25 threads and one is 1.5 threads. I believe the course threads are the early version. The course thread version is also a little heavier at the top.

Here are my measurements from Louie...

Note the caliper measurement starts at 1 on the ruler so you need to subtract 1 from the ruler dimension. I placed a fabric tape on the truck for reference. Message if you need anything else.

Measurement to top of tub.

Measurement to opening

Measurement to bottom hole since hinge is in the way of the top hole measurement. My assumption is that the hole placement is the same.

When we did that as a professional carpenter (for accuracy to eliminate the s***ty hook which means almost all the time for finish work) working in a team (or alone!) we would shout out “Burning an inch”. You always knew what you did when you held up your piece and it was exactly one inch short.. 🙄
