Just to show how much grinding needed to happen

And ground, overall not much. The wheels fit nicely now. Now I just need to save for tires....

And a quick shot to show the clearance of the 17s with FJ60 rotors, 4x4 labs hysteer, and 4-runner calipers

Got the axle bolted in and flipped the front 40 springs. I should be around 96" wb now.

Still need to get tires for the 17" wheels so I can mount calipers, but I can finish the alignment, connect steering torque bolts etc while I wait for tires.

Oh and I need to swap in shorter shackles in the rear to fix the stink bug stance.

One slooow step forward.

Put stock shackles back in the rear, leveled out the suspension nicely.

Set the toe using the same method mentioned earlier.

.2 degrees in. I used a string spaced 1" from the rear tire.
I used a 4foot piece of square tubing to space the string out and try to get it straight all the to the front.

Next up is brakes and getting the engine started again.

Thanks guys, Im happy with how things are turning out. though I wish progress were faster.
I'm happy with the 4x4labs frombe steering so far. The drag link is pretty close to the pass leaf spring, I'll have to take a photo and share. I need to droop out the pass side tire to see if it contacts. That's the only concern currently.

Yep, I’m still here!
Working on fitting the brake booster/MC and building brake lines.

FJ80 master cylinder
94 4-runner booster
JT outfitters spacer
The booster is just a bit too large with the clutch master in there too, I used 1/4” plate to make an additional spacer and still had to clearance the flange on the booster a bit.

Also, it looks like the Assembly is sitting a bit off of level, when I remove and re install after fabricating the lines I’ll try to correct it. Shouldn’t affect the hardliners much

Got the rear and 1st leg of the front brakes mocked up.
Interested in thoughts on the proximity of the hard line to the header, it’s about 1/2”. Should I wrap the header?

Since you already made the lines and are familiar with flaring, I reccomend changing the position of your prop valve and eliminate header interference.

Ah good tip on rotating the prop valve, definitely one of those  moments

Headers and new exhaust are in the long term plan, but trying to stay focused on one project at a time

aaaand thru fender headers give it that retro 90s look

I’m sure that will be back in style by the time I get this thing on the road

Looking good! Keep plugging away...

Good call on the “one project at a time” thing. I’ve always tried to go about
my build this way. This engine relocation project (and all of the ensuing project creep) has been a harsh reminder of why I started with that philosphy - a year and a half later, and still sitting torn apart in the garage.

Soon though - I think I’ll be driving mine again this summer.
