Another one of these deals. Rear quarter was previously smashed. Gas door surround is caved in a little. Using the hydraulic to stretch it back out, and hopefully I don’t have to make another bracket to hold it in place like I did on Tatonka.

By far, this is the most productive day I have had since I started restoring these vehicles 1.5 years ago. Welded the lower door, and tailgate patches, ground all welds, fiberglass filler and body filler. Sanded all 4 doors and tailgate filler. Applied fiberglass filler and body filler on quarters, block sanded, reapplied filler, block sanded again. Those are almost done. Welded on the A pillar gutters, filler and block and filler on the fender that was crushed in. That is also nearly done. Filled the rocker panel trim holes. Bodywork is at 80% done I think. A good day. Wife says to come home :hmm:

Have you done any 60’s so far with somewhat extensive rain gutter/roof rust?
BTW your work simply speaks fir itself…….quality!
Thanks!!! I have done some roof/gutter rust repair, but I have not yet dug in deep. I am ready though bring it on.

Princess had bad roof rust but he decided to have a pop-top installed. So, all I had done was cut into it.

Once I remove the seam sealer on the top and bottom of the gutters, I soak it for a couple of days with a rust dissolver in hopes that it will seep in and help stop what cannot be seen.

I’m gonna need a link to whatever playlist you were listening to that day. 😉

This is how I deal with the gutters, if they look good, or rusty, either way. The lower seam sealer often has rust behind it. I scrape the large sealer off with a skinny scraper, then I use a small 90 degree pic and the removes the sealer that is deep up in there. If it looks rusty, I sand blast it. After that step, I soak the top and bottom with rust dissolver and pack shop towels in there so it doesn’t dry out. I will leave the chemical for an hour or more, but if it’s really ugly, then all night and cover with plastic. On this one I will use Metal Prep because there is only a couple small rust spots and that chemical will work well also.
