My key has been falling out of the ignition as long as I can remember...kinda nice too, no annoying jangling when you're on the dirt roads. Makes for good pranks when your giving friends a lift.

Can the dealership cut me a key for the cargo area? My ignition key works in the driver and gas door but not back there. Maybe the po changed out the lock in the back.

Make sure the lock is not seized. If it goes in but doesn't turn...try some spray lube inside the key hole and around the cylinder...and keep working it back and forth.

That was the first thing I tried. Is the ignition key supposed to unlock the cargo area? My key works fine everywhere but the cargo door. It only seems to go in about a half inch. Which makes me think there is supposed to be a different key or PO broke something off in there.

Yes, your ignition key should unlock the back hatch. I just had a locksmith rebuild mine using the key code. Pull the cylinder out and take it, the key code and/or your key to a good locksmith and they should be able to fix it up.

when I sold new cars(Honda's) in the early 1990's, I would put the key code(was a sticker that came with car if I recall) on the bottom of the ashtray(cars still has ashtrays then) Was funny, I sold my GF at the time a new Civic SI(the one with the CRX motor) she sold it 10+ years latter, a few years ago I was at my nephews house and he had a civic SI that looked like it hers.....I pulled the ashtray and there was the key code I placed on it in 1992 ;)

BTW........looked a new 2017 200 series.....and there is no ashtray anymore! So I guess I would have to use a diet coke can in one of the many cup holders for my butts.......LOL ;)
