I have an h55f and it came with a tuner car looking plastic 5 speed shift knob. I was wondering if there was ever a 5 speed knob that matches the oem 4 speed one. Ive called cruiserdan to no avail, but it is hard describing it over the phone. I just want one that looks like the 4 speed one, ie white lettering and shift line. If anyone has a part number i am all ears! Thanks!

You could always use this:

The 5-speed shift knob off a 80's-90's celica or supra is the right shift pattern, thread size and can be had in black or grey colors. Best of all, it's almost free at the pick 'n pull

82-83 Toyota SR5 Pickups have the same round ball as a cruiser, but with a 5 speed pattern

I really like the molded 5sp knob. It's easy to shift with one or two fingers, and gives a positive grip. But I also like the more classic look of the TEQ one and the one they were talking about making. Very cool.

I agree with the 8 ball idea, and do know where my gears are.

Funny story though = a buddy drove my cruiser and thought R was broken. I was gone for a week and he had to park with a front exit...LOL. I still laugh at him. He finally called me a couple days before i got home...too funny. It was on my 87 w/ 4sp, which is missing the sticker so just blank knob. So looking at my 5sp knob did not help! hehehe

amaurer does great knobs for $30:

Kickass Stuff For Your 40-Series

He can do something that looks a lot like the stock knob, but with engraved numbers/letters (see lower left shot, which I believe is now sitting in my 60's center console tray, waiting to by tapped.)

Cheers,
prat

Perfect! Thanks!

I have the 4 speed shift knob on right now minus the sticker. I wonder if i could just find the sticker to replace it?
Nope. And it is metal cap, not a sticker.

I'll bump in second of Amaurer (Drew's) shift knobs if you want something a little semi-custom, using a pair in my 4Runner..

5 spd

Prowlerdriver,

back in about 1995 when i switched to the 5spd i had the same trouble finding that non north American part. so knowing that they have 5spd diesels up in Canada i made a call to my friends at 4 Wheel Auto Wholesale -LANDCRUISER PARTS.
it took several weeks but they eventually found a proper LandCruiser 5spd shift knob for me.

so who knows if there are any left but give it a try.

Teebags is the original OEM knob for the BJ42
The ones on the later 60 series are a soft rubber elongated version which is ergonomic especially on RHD's
