Before this thread is relegated to the "back forty" I would like to make a couple of observations regarding this year's event and possible future events.

First of all, starting with the 1st annual event in Cullman, AL and extending to this year's event, the emphasis has been and will continue to be on a "social gathering" for those that have a common interest in the 70 Series Land Cruiser.
Trail riding, while enjoyable will not be our primary focus unless someone else steps forward to organize the next annual event in which case they are welcome to do so. Let us not forget that Sam and Peter who have stepped forward to offer their guiding services are volunteers and in the case of Sam has invested their own money and time to scout trails prior to the event.
Secondly, not everyone who attends these events are necessarily interested in spending the day on challenging trails while others only enjoy such trails. As always it's challenging to make everyone happy although Peter, Sam and I have given it our best shot. I clearly remember making a blanket statement Friday morning prior to leaving the parking lot that no one was obligated to the trails that had been chosen for that day. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to grab a trail map and head off on their own if they desire. (just show up for dinner)
There are a lot of moving parts in an event like this and for next year's event, assuming there is one, I encourage others to step forward and volunteer their services. In a perfect world it would be nice to have multiple guides with Windrock experience for both Friday and Saturday.
Simply speaking, it's our desire that everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend and will want to attend year after year.
Thanks

For those of you that are into "long range planning" this event will continue to be held the last weekend in September of each year. Remember this is a family and dog friendly event. :)

So, Charles, am I forgiven for showing up at SE70 #1 in a Hertz rental Chevy? Can I come back next year? I promise to behave...... :)

The fact that you showed up in a rental was discussed in detail on page 1 of the post event report however that report has now been filed away. :) ...... and yes you are always welcome at our little get together.

Wow, just got around to watching this video. Great job Nick! Looking forward to next year.
That helicopter thingy in the right hands is kinda cool. :)

I realize it's "well after the fact" but I recently found an additional stash of these in case someone still wanted one and didn't receive one at the event.

Can someone confirm if this event is still on?
It is normally scheduled for the second half of September each year and barring something beyond our control will continue next year.
