I saw those in my research but the load range E was a massive turnoff for me. Cool alternate size option though.
You got images of your BMC and pinch weld work? I’m going to do my own but would like a frame of reference. My thought is to cut the entire triangle off and weld a curved piece of plate back in. Do you have to hammer the part where the wheel well seam meets the rocker seam? Feels like a spot that’s going to get whacked by a rock anyway, as my sliders don’t go all the way forward.

This should prove to be a great thread! 👍
Let's keep it on point and very detailed. I'm sure many will be referring to this often during their builds.
AND LOT"S OF PHOTOS!!! 😁

Personally I'd like to see some GX's with 35's with the tire completely stuffed in the wheel wells, both front and rear, and lock-to-lock.

What gears would be appropriate with 35s?
4.56 or 4.88?
Depends what you want. 4.56 is a 16% offset correction and 35's are a 15% size increase, so 4.56 would be adequate (as in would put you back to stock), but having re-geared prior vehicles the tire weight is also a big contributor. Imo I would go 4.88 for the extra axle torque to help offset that tire weight increase.

After talking with Mule and Nitro looks like 4.56s are only available for the GX which works out perfectly as it would put me back to stock feel. Man the power I had with 30" tires haha

Yukon gear and axle makes 4.88 for ours if you're trying to go that route (at least their website lists GX460 as supported vehicle for 4.88 on a 8.2")

Oh snap good to know. I'll still probably go with the Nitro due to them being local to me and amazing customer service and product. I think 4.56 will serve me well. I dont plan on going 37s hahahah

Yukon is in Everett lol. I used to live out there. Sorry to throw the wrench :bang:

Trimmed some plastic and hammered the pinch weld. Now we wait for the 35s…

How does that old saying go?? "Pound to fit, paint to finish!"

Called discount tire and they said FedEx has had my tires for 3 days now but don’t know when they’ll be delivered to the shop (FedEx is right next to discount tire) 🤦‍♂️

I don’t know how that’s even possible so I asked for a tracking number and sure enough it’s been at their warehouse for 3 days “in transit” wtf

Okay, I really didn't want to. Had no choice. That or nothing at all.
I did it. I pulled the trigger. (I said trigger not finger, and it wasn't a fart...)
I just purchased the equivalent 35" tires.
I have been looking EVERYWHERE for BFG 285/75R17's KO2's (all-terrains). They can not be found!!! o_O
I can't find anything in either the A/T's which is what I'm preferring, or M/T's, which I currently have or sizes at all that are even one step up or down in size/diameter.
There are no BFG's near my size around, period. Nada, zip, zero.
If I go down to the next available size in either an AT or MT, I'm going down over an inch/inch and a half in diameter smaller. If I go larger, the closest I could find was at my local Costco store, they have 315/70R17's which equate to about a 35" tire.
So the difference in size is:
285/75-17 KM2 (my current tires): 33.9"; tread width: 8.6"; weight: 67 lbs
315/70-17C KO2 (new tires): 34.5" difference= +.6" or .3" deeper into the rear of the front fender. tread width: 10.6"; weight: 62 lbs
So as you can see my biggest concern isn't diameter, it's width.
I'm sure I'm going to have some rubbing, so I guess I'll be pulling my baby sledge hammer and pounding some weld seams.

And for any who are thinking about suggesting another brand, sorry, I'm a hard core BFG fan.

ALSO!! I have a NEVER been used 285/75R17 spare tire for sale! Since I'm getting an all new size all around.
I will not ship. Cheap!!
Gone.

Ok I got a dilemma.

The Yokohama MT G003 still have not been delivered. Discount tire said they’d give me the cooper stt pro in 315/70r17 and match the same low price as the yokos. So $400 off the set.

What do I do? Wait for the Yokohamas or get the coopers?

The STT pros are a great tire, I’d take those for sure.
