Ok I got a dilemma.

The Yokohama MT G003 still have not been delivered. Discount tire said they’d give me the cooper stt pro in 315/70r17 and match the same low price as the yokos. So $400 off the set.

What do I do? Wait for the Yokohamas or get the coopers?
I'd start Googling reviews on both tires and see what the public has to say.

I’ve been doing that all night and this morning haha. Looks like both are great tire options. Coopers are lighter and that’s got me considering them over the Yokohamas at the moment. Both look awesome and aggressive.

I’ve never personally run the STT pros but am currently running the G003 on my tundra and I absolutely love them! I have had a few good friends with tacos and 4runners that have run STT Pros and liked them but said they start to get loud and cupped fairly easily once they start wearing. My G003 have 25k miles or so on them and are starting to show some wear but are not cupped and hardly make any more noise than when they were new. Just my .02

Congrats on pulling the trigger on Coopers!
I just got a call from Costco and my BFG 315/70R17's are in and I'm having new "shoes" put on tomorrow also!
So, nobody in So. Cal. is interested in a spare BFG M/T 285/75R17 that's never been used???
All I've been hearing so far has been crickets! I really don't want to trash a perfectly new tire with zero miles on it, but I don't have space to store it either.

I’m sure you’ll have to do a good deal of trimming on that massively big plastic front facia. My BMC wasn’t initially aggressive enough using the MetalTech kit. My welder did a custom chop which I thought wasn’t necessary but I’ve needed every bit of it.

On another site, I’ve seen someone say that 35s fit with a 17x9 -12 offset wheel and only minor trimming on a 14’+. Maybe for mall crawling, but pinch welds also have to get pounded in for sure.
I would love to see the trimming and pounding you did to get your 35's to fit without rubbing. Any issues with the washer bottle?
I have the Cooper STT Pro Maxx on order 305/70R18. ETA is December.

I’m kinda glad they “lost” them as the coopers are much lighter.

Not much too it. BMC, cut plastic and hammer pinch weld…. I think 🤣🤣🤣

I had to do similar to my 100 series Landcruiser when I mounted 35's on her. Just got out my baby sledge hammer and started banging away.
And now that I'll have 34.5" (315/70R17) tires on it, looks like I'll be doing the same thing again. Hopefully not too much pounding...

Yall ready for this one? haha got a text this morning from fedex saying that tires were found and will be delivered today to discount!!! I'll get a chance to put them next to the coopers and compare before I make my decision. What a wild turn of events

Fedex has been super loopy with my stuff too. I had 4 of 5 tires delivered to my house, and eventually Walmart refunded me the last tire. I literally read the email confirming the refund (about a week later) and the tire shows up. So I got a free spare.

Hey that’s a win!

Either way I’m getting 35s on today and most likely trimming more plastic 😂

Anyone put the 315/70/17 on the 14+ up with pics? I am new on the board but not new to lifting vehicles. Coming from doing my daughters GX470 with Dobinson 3" and 275/70/17 running Level 8 17x9 with -12 offset I am leaning on a larger tire for the wifes GX460. I want to run a 315 or at least a 305/70/17 and can I get a aggresive alignemnt to keep from doing the BMC as I don't know who to go to in my area for this? I assume I will need to get a trim on the front and rear bumpers. I am going to go with Ironman FCP stage 2. Do I need to worry anything on the KDSS if I push it up to a 3" and allow for the 315/70/17? This has been a great thread for those of us looking and planning on going to a 35" tire.

You’ll need a BMC with 35s for sure regardless of the alignment. 315/70r17 is essentially what mine are at 35x12.50r17.

You don’t need 3” to fit. I was fine with 2.5” and some trimming/BMC.

I just mounted 315/70R17 BFG KO2's (A/T) on mine 2 days ago. With this time of year, it's about dark when I leave for the office and same getting home. I plan on taking some pic's this weekend when I can get some daylight.
Since you're new, my old tires were 285/75R17 BFG KM2's (M/T) and they fit and worked great. I've already done the BMC when I first built my rig, but now I'm getting some fender liner rubbing which I'll address this weekend also.
