No..just as long as that happens after you do the ZPC.

As an example...I did ZPC in my garage.... then the last piece of driving straight.. I had to go down a small incline out of my garage before turning right vefore the straight piece of road. You will know when all is good because wheels will reappear on the wheel direction indicator in gauge cluster.

Would like some clarifications on the MTS system. Can I install the MTS without Crawl Control?
Also, I am seeing so many part numbers that are similar to the 859A1-60020 but with different last 2 digits and they are much cheaper on Ebay. would any of those work?

I have a 2012 460 Base.
Thanks!

Yes... you can do MTS only or Crawl Only.

If they aren't 020 for 10-13 or 040 for 14-19 they won't work for MTS.

You are replacing an existing ECU module. Do NOT purchase an 010, 030, 031 if you want MTS

That is the perfect answer for my question. Thank you Sir!

Also, I am just looking at CL for the DIY CC switches and I may attempt to do it. I will try to come up with a plug and play bypass style wiring harnesses. I know the connector on the switch assembly side is 90980–12553 which I think is a male. I am looking for the female side.

You can pick up the 020 for 10-13 for less than $160/shipped directly from Japan

When I bought mine almost 3 years ago it was less than $130.

I have a 2010 Premium and added MTS without CC. MTS works REALLY well - I was impressed with what it did for my truck. CC - not sure anymore? I don’t think I will add it unless somebody chimes in and says that it is life altering.

I think CC is a game changer. Will get you out of a jam for sure. One of those things better to have and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
I would consider CC and MTS to be a critical part of off-road equipment. Don’t skimp out on parts. Buy genuine Toyota for long term reliability.
Here’s my lot ready for install

Yeah, but you feel like CC will get you out of stuff that MTS will not? Granted, I don’t have CC, but I just find it hard to imagine that system getting me out of a mess that I could not get out of with MTS.

You would have an instant market if you wanted to make plug and play harnesses.

The human foot could never match the level of throttle control and brake torque redistribution that this computer can. It will dig itself out of a sandpit.

If someone has a 2020+ Luxury model you can help the effort to bring Crawl/MTS to non-equipped 20+ models by posting some pictures of the wiring connected to your skid control ECU. At this time it would seem wiring is missing from a Base/Premium. We do not know if Luxury lacks the wiring.

••It would be great to see wiring of a Luxury with Off-Road-Package as well.

Thanks!

As @OCGX mentioned the CC switches are wired directly to the Skid Control ECU in 2020. I looked into the skid control ECU connector today to compare it to the 2020's crawl control wiring diagram. To my understanding, all the pins for crawls (on/off, down, up, gnd) are null in my vehicle. Meaning that there is no wire from crawl control switch (in the cabin) to the skid control ECU.

Pictures from two directions and pin numbers are: PIN43 (ON/OFF), PIN44 (DOWN), PIN13 (UP), PIN21 (GND).

Yeah... Lexus is badly saving on wires this year...

No offense, but this sounds like a phrase taken directly from a Toyota/Lexus propaganda manual. Since I don’t have experience with it, I won’t say you are wrong - just saying that I am a little doubtful of how beneficial it would be ...
Don’t get me wrong - I put in the MTS and it made a LOT of difference. I have put myself in bad lines purposely, in order to test it. It works! But the CC...... just seems like cruise control for my MTS.
I am going to have to start digging for comparisons of using MTS vs using CC.

All good. I'd be interested in your findings.

There is a pretty cool video on UTube of a Tacoma buried up to its frame in sand and it digs itself out with crawl control.
It makes all kind of nasty sounds in CC, but it's the computer doing the braking on the wheel that is spinning. It's worth a look (post #52).

I have actually seen that video - pretty impressive!
I don’t question whether it works - I question whether it is significantly different then the same results you could get with MTS engaged.

MTS and CC would be used in different scenarios. For example CC would be used to dig out of sand in a stuck situation where MTS alone couldn’t dig you out. By the same token, you wouldn’t have CC engaged when you are using MTS in sand mode and momentum to carry thru.
