I re-used my old nuts & bolts. You may have to soak them for a bit, but you should be alright. No idea on the sizes.

Memcruiser i have a whole set of gold-cad plated bolts with plenty of extras. When u find out what size you need for the manifold I would be glad to send you some if I have the right size.

I'm trying to change starter this morning. It takes 17mm wrench. None of my wrenches or sockets fit to where I can actually back out bolt! What's the trick other than taking it to mechanic? I guess I could buy a 17 and cut end off to give me room.

From memory, you probably need a short (as opposed to deep) 17 mm socket and a wobble extension. I don't think you should have to cut a socket or resort to a mechanic.
Were you able to get a "free" starter under the SHUSH warranty?
Could not find the receipt. Not sure how to get a wobble extension on it. Have to try harder.

There are a few places in the past on my vehicles I had to grind out a tool to make it work. Don't be afraid to cut an end wrench down to make it work.

Found one buried in tool bag. Dad must of needed on on his old Ghia.
Starter is fine. Changed batt ground and all terminals. Then noticed this wire kind of looked bad. Pulled on it and came right apart.

Well nothing is working. I cant get the black plastic connector internals out to rewire so I am unable to
energize solenoid. Tried buying generic connector at auto parts store just to see if I could power solenoid but no luck. What to do now. It is about to go to mechanic. Starting to lose patience.

Maybe have your wife take the plug to Radio Shack or Autozone and ask them to pull the connector out pretty please or see if they have one that'll work?

Uuse a generic spade type connector and just do away with that connector.

What is the grounding wire that goes from starter to frame called. Mine was kind of bad looking and
bought one at a part store and bolt wont go through eyelet or hole, whatever the MFer is called.
I guess I need to order one.

If it bolts on to the starter and the frame, just make one. Very easy to do!
