All 1/2 doors have the loops. Probably something to do with standardization.

The hinges you may have seen on the top of the tub in first pics were BST style.

Bestop Soft Top.

Along with the snaps along the top of the rail.

Awful.

Guess I'm not the only one who thinks some FST's had barn doors :)

1962 Toyota FJ40

So I’ve been researching this and it seems you are correct.

This one was an oddball with no corner footman loops and rear 1/2 doors.

It did have the eyelets for the safety straps and the different door hinges that allow the soft doors to be easily removed.

Of all the FSTs I found pics of, other than Rob’s 62 they all had tailgates and corner footman loops.

Another thing. Mine has Bestop snaps but different hoies that we’re likely for the turnbuckles.

Good stuff. I learned a lot. Glad it’s still going to be in inventory. This thing has been the giving tree for sure.

In search of an early pickup power steering gearbox for Davis’s 40. Waited too late for West Texas to rebuild before the ramble. Anyone sitting on one they can spare?
