Pulled driveshaft and opened drum and the xfer case is draining out of it?!?

Is that just the seal between the two? That's a new seal...

T-case isn't hard to pull if you really need to. Most of the bolts are accessible from outside but 2 (I think) have to be removed inside the long cover plate. Then you need to make a sort of puller to separate it. I think I can find the one I made years ago if you decide to pull it. I would sure try another seal first though.
 
Can anyone tell me what gauge sheet metal is on a 1978's dash? 18ga?
 
I'm sure Braswell is too hard headed for this but once Rob determined the guts of this beast is good he should just let Rob do the swap.

@wngrog , that's for the heads up about the powdercoater you suggested a few weeks ago; I talked to him today. Sounds like he's gonna be a good fit.
