Hey Guys!
Just a note, I do still make the Original Style connectors which deletes the 3rd row seat functionality.

Cheers,
TheOzMan
Are the connectors required when removing third row seats? Or only if one wants to tap power from them.
I think I remember some error on the dash or a "beep" or something when removing the seats.

I had the seats out for months without the tap installed, no sounds or adverse affect. This product is only needed if you want to use the seat power for something else.

Exactly what I wanted to know. I already have power back there, so no need for the connectors when I get ready to eject the third row.
Thanks!!

Edit: SOLD.....and my apologies to Ozman. I thought he discontinued selling these altogether. Apparently he just stopped selling the t-taps.

I have the 2 connector set that I got from the Ozman that I no longer need. These come with a 3’ lead and I added via crimp / heat shrink connectors another 3’ of 10awg wire to combine them into one. I used this briefly for running my fridge and then wound up going a different route. $50+ shipping if anyone wants a quick and easy way to get power to the rear of the GX.

Hello Folks,

I have found a way to harness the 2 3rd row seats power circuits that are fused at 30A directly from the battery and always on without messing with OE harness. The OE wiring are not really rated for 30A but it can be safely used for around 20A of constant use and a spike within 30A. The GX460 are the worst in terms of providing power outlets to the rear cargo are and with this connector you can get up to 40A to power anything you would like (1 connector for each side merged together). This is only applicable to GX460s with powered 3rd row seats
  • These connectors can be used to power a fridge, USB outlets, Cig, outlets, and pretty much anything shy of a 1000W inverter.
  • Because these circuits are directly connected to the battery, you can add an appropriately sized solar charger.
  • You do not need to remove your seats to use these connectors.
  • They come with 3ft lead wires, if you need longer, I can do longer ones per special order.

Update: SOLD OUT of T-Harness style!!!!

This harness is made with 14 AWG for the power wires and 20 AWG for signal wires ( larger than OE harness for durability).

All OEM TOYOTA connectors and terminals.

The 3 ft. external power leads are soldered and heat shrunk for best strength and conductivity.

Awesome mod. A lot of LX570 owners(it me) would love to know how you sourced that connector.

could anyone show the back side of the tap so we can see where the red and black wires need to be connected? all pictures only show the plug end. thanks!

I messaged him as well. Hopefully he's still making them or willing to give/sell his notes on how he made them and where he sourced the plugs. Really want to add these to my GX!
The biggest issue is sourcing the connectors if you're looking for the cleanest solution like what OZMAN created.

Connector part numbers are posted earlier in the thread. Looks to be something you can order through any Toyota/Lexus dealer.

The specific pins may be harder to track down

Acrad, were you looking for fusion log files related to transmission temps? i just drove cross country over 3 days. i recorded logs. 1min samples. tried to vary data based on ambient temps and driving conditions (flat vs climbing passes). i installed a bug net as well for the trip. lmk if you want them.

I have't done it in a while but IIRC... OBD Fusion/Link will let you overlay the temp data on a built in map function so you can actively see the temps anywhere along the journey
