Are these both the “Tall” covers? Do they have the threaded oil cap?

Do you sell them?

Both Have Threaded OIL Cap Ports , and will Accept the NEW Black Nylon TEq OIL CAP Shown in My Photos ............

TOYOTA Discontinued the OEM Part # back around 1998 ............

those are not tall valve covers, the oil fill location is all the way forward, the tall valve covers it is back a few inches. also the tall covers have 2F in the very front to be read from the front, the short covers are read from the side.

@3_puppies is a 2F Valve Cover JEDI :)

Yeah, except the whole point of the thread is to find a tall valve cover with a threaded oil cap. Not just shiny 2F valve covers.

I appreciate your input and pictures, but unless you are contributing concrete data on tall valve covers with threaded oil caps, you may be just confusing the issue.

just to clarify:
@GA Architect posted pics of his which is a tall valve cover with threaded fill port, they were on 79-80 engines. 75-78 valve covers had the push in cap
as I stated above, it's fairly easy, just by looking at them which generation of valve cover you are looking at.

Yessir, this forum is a place for sharing technical knowledge, including knowledge about valve covers. But my thread is asking a specific (technical) question about 2F valve covers - Were the tall valve covers available with threaded oil caps?

Yes, you presented photos of your 2F valve covers (they're very pretty!). But you did not provide any context with the photos. It was not clear if you were asking the community to ID your valve covers. Or if you were answering my question about tall valve covers. As it turns out, it was the former.

Basically, you unintentionally hijacked my thread and added confusion to the discussion about tall 2F valve covers with threaded oil caps. I think you hijacked my thread to promote your online business. No worries. I appreciate an enthusiastic business owner. I think some of your products are pretty cool and I might buy them.

But I would just ask that you focus on answering the question in the thread - What Tall 2F valve covers have threaded oil caps?

That is a correct statement.

That is an incorrect assumption.

Dude, threads get hijacked all the time. Frankly this thread is still all about 2F valve covers so compared to many it’s still pretty close to being on topic. If you insist on your threads staying strictly on topic then I’m not sure an open forum is the place to hang out.

i apologize if i offended you in any way

You guys are right, I overreacted.

@RAGINGMATT - I apologize. Thank you for contributing to the discussion.

Did you find what you were looking for ? I’m not big on selling stuff but I can dig up a few valve covers I have laying around and see if there what your searching for. I’m checking on a part for Mark today so I can add it to my list.

Here are the various covers I know of. Feel free to ID and add to the list.

@65swb45 was going to look for me when he gets back from vacation. If you could put your hands on one now, I'd buy it off you if it's in good condition. I'm going to powder coat it, so it doesn't need to be well-finished, just not marred, gouged, or dinged up.

" USING " my trusty SOR.com EPC I believe The Tall 2F Valve Cover w/ a Screw In Oil Cap Is Shown Below :

- We know The threaded Oil Cap Came Before the Shorty 2F Valve Cover w/ the threaded Oil Cap

- so based on the SOR time line below , the Tall Cover w/ threaded oil cap was only Produced & Used between 1/79-7/80

or basicly a year and a half / or a Precious 19 Months ...........

- this also may be totally wrong and im being thrown off by SOR's Cryptic parts numbering system designed to FOOL the

average landcrusier owner into simply Buying More Parts ?

if anybody has anything to add , please feel free to do so
.........:)

That is correct the tall threaded cap version is only available for 79-80 so they are a little tricky to find.

WV... Having blown off the rubber push-in cap before, thanks for starting the thread! I'm going to start sniffing for one of those 79-80 covers as well.
