Good day
I am new to this forum, so thought I would start here as I am also trying to find out more info on my first FJ45, so any info would be a great help.
I have done some reading on this topic and have so come to realize that it has had a replacement block at some stage in its life, as the serial number is no longer there, just 2F on the plate, but from what I can see it is a 76 model. I did manage to aquire the original engine number which was 2F16407.
I will try attach some pictures of what I have.

What part of South Africa are you in? My youngest son spent 8 weeks in South Africa about 9 years ago with his geology professor, in the field studying the Bushveld igneous complex. He got a chance to spend a couple of days in Cape Town as well after the field work was done. He really enjoyed the experience.

Looks to be mid-'85 FJ60 engine (see spreadsheet link in Post #297 on Page 15).

The spreadsheet linked on Page 19 shows 2F 532233 from an April '81 FJ40, does yours have the 2F in front of the numbers?

Is there any reason this long block would not be a good choice for a 84 fj60 for a rebuild?
